Our collective creative perspective includes global studies of cultural, artistic, and architectural treasures. We are unceasingly observing and learning universal aesthetic qualities and we bring this knowledge and passion for visual grandeur to every project. Where We Are

With our office in Culver City, we have positioned ourselves in the center of an ever-evolving and endlessly-energizing crea

tive hub. Swarming with the best and the brightest of countless industries, there is a constant opportunity to inspire and be inspired. Where We Started

ATA was founded by Trevor Abramson and Douglas Teiger, each having over 28 years of experience running an architectural practice. They merged their firms in 2000 to form Abramson Teiger Architects. What We’ve Accomplished

We have designed work environments, retail, commercial, multi-family, places of worship, school and residential projects. With over 200 built projects across North America, ATA’s passion for excellence has been recognized with over thirty design awards. These include national, state and local American Institute of Architects (AIA) design awards, among others. ATA’s work has been published extensively in international, national and local journals such as Architectural Record, Architectural Review, Architectural Digest, Interior Design, Form Magazine and Los Angeles Architect. ATA’s body of work has gained acclaim from industry peers, has attracted extensive print media attention here and abroad and stands proudly in the community. How We Work

Our designs are inspired by an earnest desire to elevate the human soul, to facilitate connection, and to improve the lives of the people they serve. Our goal is to find the perfect balance in every physical space by merging boldly calculated yet deliberately spontaneous thinking to create experiential harmony. We’ve preserved constant design themes that reflect our Southern California roots while remaining inventive and progressive. Clean lines and striking forms are infused with layers of light and texture to maintain natural dimension and endless possibility. Through weaving the subtle and the sensational, we create spaces that are as unforgettable as they are functional. We encourage an open dialogue with our clients and staff to nurture and develop ideas. Our firm provides a creative and supportive environment that allows design freedom to flourish. We listen, conceptualize, and execute with sensitivity and attention to each client’s completely unique ideas and concerns. We want the product and the process of every architectural endeavor to be an enriching experience for all. With countless prestigious awards and hundreds of articles in the media, we still consider the needs of each client to be the core of our practice. We believe this authentic approach is why clients return to us, time and again. No matter how big we grow, we will remain a purpose-driven firm that never loses sight of the most crucial voice - the client’s.

Landscape is part of the architecture in this hillside Southern California home. Vegetated “landscape fingers” break up the house’s volume across three locations, heightening awareness of the site’s promontory perch. Bridged into the home, the graded terrain shapes new framed-view perspectives—and brings inhabitants closer to the land.

The holiday party brought together the teams from our Chinatown, West Adams, and San Diego offices. The hospitality at was top-notch and getting to visit was a first for many of the team.

The food and beverage options include hearth fired dishes from Morocco, Iran, Georgia, and Lebanon. No notes.

The evening proved to be a successful first full team outing, although the only group photo that was taken seems to be from the second location...

Nothing brings the team together like Thanksgiving. The combination of with earlier this year means many more favorite dishes at the 2025 Cultural Potluck. It was a great moment of synergy to realize our shared love of family recipes and holiday traditions.

Happy Thanksgiving to our staff, clients, and colleague in Southern California (and now worldwide). We wish the best for their families and all the communities they are a part of.

The office was a-buzz with the Halloween spirit this week. Meaning that our All Staff meeting on Tuesday had a few more interesting characters than normal.

We had it all covered in the costume category... Ranging from cursors, cowboys, outties, wizards, and creepy dolls. Surprisingly, the missing side dish detectives were no match for our residence Louvre Heisters, who took home a custom laser-printed trophy, along with their jewel haul.

The Sapire Residence looks out over the ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains. Sliding walls and open windows let the breeze move through the house, connecting every space back to the view. It’s calm, quiet, and completely tied to the landscape.

A car showroom reborn as a gallery, Tappan Collective sits in Culver City’s PLATFORM district. Originally an old dealership, the building already had strong bones, which we leaned into.

We preserved its raw character: concrete floors, white walls, and an exposed wood ceiling woven with architectural lighting and industrial ductwork. Large-scale windows open to Washington Boulevard, bringing in light and connection to the street.

The building was once covered in beautiful street art murals. These murals were extracted and preserved, now hanging on the walls of various collectors in Los Angeles.

Once a 1971 recording studio, carried years of creative reverberation. We reimagined its bones: preserving its industrial soul while opening it up to light, introducing clean structure, and adapting it for new life. The past is still present — you can hear it in the textures, the layers, and the sense of continuity through every space.

Originally built in the late 1960s and remodeled in the 1990s, Dolphin Marina Apartments sought to redesign their space and add additional amenities. Each of the complex's unique outdoor spaces offers amenities that respond to the needs and rhythms of their active community:

‍Pool Courtyard: A new grand stair leads directly down to the pool deck, where an expanded spa, shaded lounge, and modern finishes create a destination for relaxation.

Quiet Courtyard: Redesigned with lush planting and deep, reclined seating, this courtyard provides a peaceful retreat and natural noise buffer, an intentional contrast to the more active zones. The lobby seperating the quiet zone from the social area has been converted into a “reading and lending library” by the residents.

Social Courtyard: Once underutilized, this space now thrives with amenities: outdoor kitchens, fire pits, hammocks, and a broad lawn. New structural decking reclaimed prime real estate from maintenance use, giving residents additional gathering space with views to the marina. Restored brick walls, boardwalk-inspired tile, and layered planting frame the courtyard with a coastal identity that feels both new and timeless.

Set within a sloped meadow, the Wyoming Residence is wrapped in weathering corten steel that patinas over time, helping the house settle into its landscape. Big “X” wings fan out from a central core, so rooms float toward views in every direction and private wings link through a shared playroom.

Below a 10-foot datum line, heavy concrete walls anchor the base; above, bands of redwood warm the exterior with texture and lightness. Expansive glazing invites daylight and frames the horizon — all while concrete, steel, wood, and glass converge in a composition rooted in both site and spirit.
