Youjung Choi creates hand-blown glass pieces that carry a quiet sense of warmth and individuality, each shaped through a collaborative process with subtle variations in form and color.

At Studio Kō, we present two of her collections: Hanji, inspired by the softness of traditional mulberry paper, and Glow, where brass wire melt into glass, forming delicate traces of light.

DURU DURU JUMEONI | YOUNG EUN KIM

After graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven, Young Eun Kim returned to Korea with a renewed desire to engage with the country’s craft heritage. She began studying chimseon, the meticulous needlework technique traditionally used in making hanbok.

During the Joseon dynasty, garments typically did not include pockets, so personal belongings were carried in small pouches known as durujumeoni. Still used in ceremonial contexts today — particularly at Lunar New Year, when children receive them filled with money — these pouches symbolize protection and good fortune.

Kim’s contemporary interpretation is crafted from silk and finished with delicate jade beads, bridging tradition and present-day sensibility.
