Professional advice for those preparing for construction in the Los Angeles area:
This week, I have attended numerous meetings with clients, vendors, architects, and contractors regarding our current and future projects.
The consensus is that existing projects will not be impacted by permit delays for at least six months. However, we anticipate significant material shortages and price increases. Furthermore, it will be challenging to secure contractors, architects, designers, and subcontractors who are available. In fact, I have already received inquiries from individuals seeking to reserve my services.
To mitigate these challenges, I recommend purchasing necessary materials as soon as possible. I have advised my clients, who are at various stages of construction, to procure finish materials, lighting, plumbing fixtures, and appliances immediately and consider renting storage units if necessary. If there is sufficient interest, I may even rent a storage unit to store materials for my clients.
It is also essential to reserve your architecture and construction team as soon as possible. With 16 years of experience in the interior design industry, I have established relationships with exceptional professionals and am happy to provide referrals.
For individuals affected by the recent fires, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns regarding preparation for construction.
