The glass block was chosen as the main material for the envelope, as it blurs the definition of whether or not this is considered a building or a garden metaphorically, buffering the privacy of customers inside, while offering plenty of natural light from inside.
The structure of the walls is integrated within the glass block to ensure its lightness, giving a sensation of very heavy materials floating above the garden and slowly scattering along with the experience within.

Restaurant Design. Practice Model #3
Exploring the harmony between architecture, culture, and nature through this conceptual restaurant design study. Inspired by flowing curves and organic forms, the structure reinterprets traditional vernacular influences into a contemporary dining space where sweeping rooflines become both an architectural statement and a climatic response. This design exercise investigates how curved geometry can shape spatial experience, create visual movement, and establish a stronger connection between the built environment and its natural surroundings.

To safeguard the owner's privacy further, a gable roof was chosen, adding an asymmetrical touch that sets the building apart from typical villas. The elongated roof on the side adjoining the neighboring property acts as a shield, concealing the internal activities from prying eyes.

Embracing the concept of "living in nature," the Oberoi Villa celebrates openness and blurs the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. Minimizing solid walls while maximizing openings, the rooms exude a feeling of being connected to the natural surroundings.
