An Architectural Vista.
The bedroom of OMS have the best views of LA. Overlooking LACMA and the new Peter Zumthor expansion, the iconic Academy Museum glass dome designed by Renzo Piano, and the Petersen Auto Museum by Kohn Pedersen Fox.

A series of stone columns framed our spaces and created a nice rhythm with the art to break up what would have been a long corridor leading to the resident lounge. The lighting turned out so well washing down the columns and creating height while the art light adds a personal layer at the resident's eye level.

The reception desk design took inspiration from the Nautilus shell and its naturally occurring golden ratio to recognize the property's location, which property is next to the La Brea Tar Pits in Los Angeles. A nod to all species discovered and preserved at the historic site.

Which is your favorite?

1. Filtered water in the entry, reducing use of plastic waste.

2. Live moss in the room bringing nature in the center of the room.

3. Timer in the shower to encourage shorter showers and using less water.

4. Open bathroom, creating open larger open space. Mirror swings up against the wall when not in use.

5. A little humor goes a long way. Check out the labels on the bathroom amenities.

I’ve been unsuccessfully keeping succulents alive, it’s time to move onto moss like room at Brooklyn Bridge. There is live moss in the rooms! So cool. If the moss can make it in a hotel why not my happy little home.
