Slowdown Inspiration - Chef Daniel Humm's New York apartment designed by Studio Zung inspired by mid-century modern design. Captured in every room is animated with collected objects and art such as that from Sarah Crowner, Roni Horn and Amoako Boafo among others. Bold colour moves through each room, with a rich, warm tone inspired by Humm’s wine collection. We're especially in love with the curated dining area, built-in bookshelves, statement wall art and bold blue and red accents with sculptural lighting and warm wood tones.

Dreamy Mid-Century Lake House in NZ designed by architect Simon Carnachan . Designed to be at one with the lake and mountain, it features a tropical indoor garden and wooden panelled walls inspired by the 70s bungalows of Berkeley, California. We love the way the Mythos Throw blanket brings in more of that beachy energy here with its deep-sea, navy and forest green. The lake house is available on Airbnb and bookings are limited to 60 nights per year.

The most fun your feet will have all day. The Rita Bath Mat is tufted, oval, and spinning with candy-red energy. Best suited for bathrooms that refuse to be boring.

NEW ✨ Meet the Otis Throw blanket designed by Argentinian artist Hernán Di Filippo for Slowdown Studio.

Hernán Di Filippo is a painter, illustrator, and muralist known for work that pulls from emotional memory, everyday rituals, and the colour and chaos of Argentine life.

This design was one of the winners of our 2025 Slowdown Art Comp and was inspired by his family dog, Ollie. Together with their cat Julio and his daughter Mora, Ollie is part of what Hernán calls a "multi-species family" - one full of small adventures and a lot of personality. The result is bold and joyful, four dogs rendered in Hernán's signature style with flat graphic shapes and rich, contrasting colour.

Love how they've kept the heritage bones of the building intact while still making it feel contemporary by adding stainless steel joinery and raised door heights to modernise it without erasing what makes it special. The quartzite range hood is a bold call in a small kitchen, but pairing it with flat stainless steel cabinetry means the stone gets to be the focal point without competing with anything. The painted ceiling swirls are a smart solution too for spaces with low ceiling heights, giving the eye something to travel across makes the rooms feel bigger than they are.
