Trees That Please uses only the products of Soil Secrets to grow their trees and to fertilize any product coming from another grower. For decades we've been promoting and growing the arid zone trees native to the Southwestern foothills of the Chihuahuan Desert Region, because we believe they are the best trees for our clients needing the least amount of water.

Altheas come in a variety of colors, flower styles, and sizes, typically growing anywhere from 8–12 feet tall and 4–8 feet wide depending on the variety. They make excellent accent plants, pollinator attractors, or flowering privacy hedges.

🌞 Light: Medium-Full sun

✨ Welcome back to our Critter Scope series! ✨
This week’s critter is the Northern Leaf-footed Bug (Leptoglossus oppositus).

🍃 Named for the leaf-like shape on their back legs, these insects are easy to recognize once you know what to look for.
🌿 They’re often found on trees, shrubs, and garden plants where they use their piercing mouthparts to feed on seeds and plant juices.
✨ While they may look intimidating, they’re harmless to people and are simply another part of our local ecosystem.

If you spot one around the nursery, take a closer look at those unique “leaf feet” and enjoy one of nature’s clever designs.

🐾 Orange Tabby Kittens Looking for Loving Homes 🐾

Over the past year, a stray mama cat has made our nursery her home. This past summer, she gave birth to five kittens, and shortly after that, one of her older kittens from last year had one kitten of her own. We now have six, 6 month old orange tabby kittens looking for safe, loving homes or foster homes that can help find their forever people. 🧡

The kittens have been fed and cared for for several weeks, but they are still nervous and shy around people. A few have already begun to warm up and will happily accept pets. With time, patience, and gentle care, they have strong potential to become affectionate companions.

Because of their current temperament, they may be best suited as:
🐱 Barn or shop cats, or
🐱 Indoor cats with patient adopters willing to give them time to adjust

Each kitten has their own unique personality—please read the photo captions to learn more about them.

Important note: These kittens have not yet been spayed or neutered and have not received vaccinations. We strongly encourage adopters to complete all recommended veterinary care. We are actively working toward getting the adult cats on the property spayed/neutered so this cycle does not continue.

👉 If you are interested in meeting the kittens, fostering, or adopting, please comment on this post or contact our manager, Anna Forester at 505-866-5027

Thank you for helping us find these kittens safe and loving futures. 🐾💛
