Homeschool mamas (or dads), if you had a curriculum you were planning to use for multiple children and wanted them to do the worksheets, would you take the binding apart and laminate the pages and rebind?
Or would you put them in sheet protectors and into a binder? Or would you make copies?

I had a laminator and a binding machine, so that's not an extra expense right now. More laminating sheets would be an expense, but so would sheet protectors.

What do you do to utilize a curriculum for multiple children?

Sometimes, you just have to take a quick getaway and get out and see the beauty around you in ways that you usually don't.

We went out to the Shenanadoah Nation Parks and hiked down to a waterfall and back up... We hiked up to a summit. Parts of it were easy; parts of it were pretty tough (physically and mentally), but all of it was beautiful. And the view from the summit was breathtaking.

Happy Friday!

A quick walkthrough of my overgrown end of summer garden and I spotted flowers on my potato plants.

I don't expect a big harvest from this. I had some russtes that had sprouted, so I just threw them in the grow bags and covered them with dirt back in June (I think it was... maybe July).

We'll see in a few weeks how the harvest turns out.

I had high hopes for this chicken. Her father was a Bielefelder. Her mom is anyone's guess.

At hatch, I was excited because it looked like a female. If you aren't familiar with Bielefelders, they're an auto-sexing breed. This means that male and female chicks have identifiable features. Females have darker chipmunk stripes down their back and look like they're wearing eyeliner. Males are lighter and have a yellow dot on their heads.

So, I thought she was female. Jokes on me and my lack of knowledge. Turns out that when you cross an auto-sexing breed with a non-auto-sexing breed, that trait breaks, and what looks like a female (or male) at hatch isn't necessarily that.

Yesterday, I went to feed this chick and its friend and heard a weird sound. Turns out... he isn't a she after all. 😭

Well, at least I don't have to buy a new rooster when I get our new flock.

Happy Thursday!

I didn't plant this echinacea, but I sure am glad it popped up! I've tried a few times to unsuccessfully start echinacea from seed. A year or two ago, I got some native green and gold plants from someone, and I think there must have been seeds in the soil, and they finally germinated.

I've been wanting to add echinacea to my herb garden, so I have plans to take some of the seeds from this plant and sprinkle them in that area later this year.

I don't always grow decent sized bell peppers...
And when I do, my littles typically pick them before they start to change color. BUT I did manage to hold them off long enough for these beautiful bells to turn red.
