Earlier I posted on how to prevent frozen water pipes. This little detail could come in handy when insulating your hose bibs. The material is easy to come by, you won’t even have to get out of your car in the cold, and for the cost of a drink will save you a frozen pipe!! You’re welcome!! Follow me for more plumbing tips!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

As this winter storm hits the South Plains it’s important to know….How to Avoid Frozen Pipes.....
When the temperatures drop well below freezing it's important to leave the heat constant from day to night. Keep the thermostat set a few degrees higher than usual.

Open cabinet doors beneath your kitchen sink and lavatories allowing warm air to circulate around the pipes that are underneath the sink and lavatories.

Consider purchasing small plug in heaters as pictured below. These little heaters are safe and will keep a small bathroom or toilet room warm.

Let your kitchen and lavatory faucets drip overnight especially when the temperature dips below 20 degrees which it will Wednesday through Saturday.

Insulate any exposed pipes in spaces like garages, crawl spaces or attics. Disconnect hoses from hose bibs and place hose bib insulation covers on the hose bibs especially on the North side of your home.

What to do if your pipes are frozen.....
If you do turn on your faucet and no water comes out, it's very possible the water pipes are frozen. Please don't hesitate to call us, although we will not be able to fix the problem until the temperatures are above freezing.

Happy Hug a Plumber Day!! It might be “Hug a Plumber Day” but these two are always the first to say, “don’t hug me I’m filthy” after coming in from a long days work. Every day these two guys work hard to ensure there is flowing water to homes, unclogged sewer lines as well as toilets that flush. It might be a dirty job but they’ve been practicing social distancing way before it was cool. Thank you Robert D. Schooler and Samuel L. Schooler!
