Took the family to Manistee Michigan to see the largest known giant sequoia tree east of the Rocky Mountains.

It stands 116 foot tall & 5 ft wide & is between 78-86 years old.

They are native to California and average 2000-3000 years old.

The largest one ever recorded was 311 feet tall, 40 feet wide, & the oldest (confirmed by ring counting) was 3266 years old, in California.
