There is so much going on. In the world, and in my own little world. Are you feeling that, too?
If so, it can definitely feel overwhelming. I feel like my capacity lately has dwindled in some ways lately while other areas are growing. But, that's just life. We have seasons, transitions, growth, regressions... and there are times that it can be difficult to focus. One of my constant struggles is what exactly to focus on.
My to-do lists begin to get so long, my goals begin to outgrow my capacity, and my dreams begin to surpass my limitations. I quickly realize that my time, energy, resources, and capacity are more limited than I thought.
Then, because boxes are left unchecked, and goals go unmet, I begin to feel like a failure. I shake it off, get back up, simplify, and start over. But, if I'm not careful, after simplifying, I slowly continue the cycle again simply by beginning to add too many things to my list again. It doesn't happen all at once, it happens as my creative brain gets new ideas, and constantly wants to learn and get better at more.
More is great. But, it's not always better. At least not all at once. So, I constantly have to remind myself how to simplify my goals, especially in seasons of transition or time limits. And then, I have to make myself stick to those goals without adding more until those goals are complete.
Can you relate to any of this? If so, here are
4 simple keys to accomplishing all your goals are to:
1. Know the purpose and the vision.
2. Stop setting too many goals. (Think 3-5 a week; less if you need to!)
3. Choose your very next step. (Not just build 3 raised garden beds, but buying the supplies first.)
4. Just get started!
