It is with deep sadness we post here again to announce the passing of our patriarch and long time Wight’s owner James “Jimbo” Anderson. He passed Sunday March 23rd surrounded by family and love. The family asks that you hug your family a little tighter today and tell them you love them. Jimbo’s legacy continues on through those he loved and those who loved him.

Hi, my name is Amber. Some of you may know me, and some may not. I have the privilege of being a part of the family who owns Wight's.

Today, I had the bittersweet task of escorting Wight's final customer out the door and closing the store for the last time.

I've spent my entire life growing up in the store, many of you lifetime shoppers probably watched me grow up, and I've spent the past 15 years working at the store on and off.

I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you. Thank you to our customers who have shopped with us over all the years. Who have made our events and Christmas Gala such a success time and time again. Those of you who have stood in line for hours and filled your homes and gardens with our merchandise.

Thank you to our employees, past and present. Thank you for your blood, sweat and tears you've put into our store. Many of you have literally watched me grow up and been such a big part of our lives. Thank you for the weight you've lifted off our shoulders at times and the love you have for our family and store.

Thank you to both our customers and Wight's family for allowing my Grandparents, Mother and Uncle to do something they truly love and have a passion for. It has been such a blessing to my life to have our family own their own business and none of it would be possible without you.

As I sit now at home, finally with my feet up, I'm overcome by the thought that I did so many things for the last time today. And I wanted to take the time to give thanks where thanks was due. We have loved to hear and read about your memories and share our own.

And again, we, as a family, are blessed because of each and every one of you. From the bottom of our hearts.... thank you.
