What a cool find. I went to my van to grab one of 100 stir sticks and found an old Duron paint stick. 20 years ago, I started out painting for my father’s paint company. We would order our paint from, (then) Duron paints, now Shwerwin Williams. Somehow all these years later I still have some left. I’ll have to make note to hang onto this for sentimental sake.

Oh and Dad, thanks again for getting me started in this business. I wouldn’t be where I’m at today without you giving me an opportunity. 🙏🏻

We gave this porch a refresh. After prep work, we painted the white trim and beams with sherwin williams forte in a satin sheen, and then panted the porch floor in sherwin williams armor seal tinted to SW “shamrock”. We then finished off the refresh by painting the black railings, giving everything a sleek and revamped appearance.

Preparation is the key factor that distinguishes a subpar paint job from a great one. Many individuals assume that painting is a task anyone can accomplish. While this is partially true, not everyone possesses the expertise of a knowledgeable professional, and this scenario serves as a prime example. The preceding contractor hired to paint our clients home failed to properly clean the dust from the slot doors and were unfamiliar with the correct methodology for painting slat doors, resulting in doors with dried drips and an overall unsatisfactory finish. Following meticulous preparation, we rectified the door issues to the best of our abilities to correct the prior work. There is a significant disparity between engaging a professional and opting for a cheaper, less skilled alternative. We take immense pride in delivering exceptional results.

Today, we had the opportunity to undertake a unique and enjoyable project. Typically, individuals choose to incorporate an accent wall to add color and create a focal point within a room. In this instance, our client adopted a different strategy, focusing on the fireplace and chair rail as the primary accent features. I experienced challenging working conditions due to the heat while staining this deck. Constructed last year, this deck's owner requested our services last fall for a staining estimate. Based on our professional assessment, we recommended postponing the staining until spring to ensure optimal results, allowing the pressure-treated wood sufficient time to dry out. I applied two coats of Sherwin Williams Super Deck Solid Stain to the deck and restained the garage's siding boards, ultimately enhancing the deck and garage apartment's appearance.

We took advantage of a brief scheduling opportunity to capitalize on the exceptionally favorable weather and complete a portion of the exterior painting tasks on Monday. Specifically, the front door and thresholds were painted black, and white paint was applied to the surrounding trim to create a visually striking contrast. Furthermore, several garage lights were disassembled and repainted with two coats of paint. We expect to be requested to return in the near future to paint the shutters, thus completing the exterior aesthetic of the residence.

This week, we completed the initial phase of preparing a home for sale. A common task in such situations is the removal of outdated wallpaper. In this particular case, the wallpaper proved to be one of the most challenging we have encountered in recent times. Each wallpaper removal project presents unique challenges, and this scenario was no exception, as the walls sustained significant damage regardless of the method employed. Consequently, we opted to apply an oil primer after removing the old paper and glue, followed by multiple layers of skim coating to repair the damage, and a second primer coat. This experience justifies our hourly rate structure for wallpaper removal, as it ensures fairness for both the contractor and the customer. Despite the difficulties, the outcome is evident. We will return in several weeks to prepare the remaining areas of the house for sale.
