Picture for attention. Shady Oak Woodworkers is looking for a cabinet maker/ carpenter apprentice. Ideal candidate will have some experience, but more importantly be energetic, enthusiastic, passionate about learning and building cool stuff, and not afraid of hard work. Must have a reasonably clean driving record, and pass drug tests. I don’t care what color you are, what you identify as, or who you spend intimate time with outside of work, as long as you leave your drama at home and are committed to learning a trade and improving yourself and your craft. I have close to 30 years of knowledge and experience that I am willing to pass on to the next generation. We do more than just build cabinets, we do full kitchen and bath renovations, trim houses, finish basements, build additions, etc. If anyone fits this description or knows someone who does, please send them my way.

Still trying to catch up on posting notable jobs we completed, this was from last summer. I fabricated these railings, welded it all together & had it Powder coated. I also installed new skirt boards, risers, steps, and custom built the newel posts. The post caps came from England, and getting them sent over was probably the hardest part of this job.

We installed this custom vanity and concrete countertop for some awesome folks that own the old number 4 fire station. They live there, & they also use the space as an event venue and an ab&b. It’s an excellent use of the space, and highlights the history of the fire service in the City of Lynchburg.
