Midvale Heights

Midvale Heights For the residents of the Midvale Heights neighborhood in Madison, Wisconsin. For more information contact the Midvale Heights Neighborhood Association.

From the City of Madison website: Midvale Heights residents take pride in their neighborhood. This is evident not only in their well-kept homes and yards, but also in their willingness to work together on key projects: beautification, neighborhood identification, traffic calming, etc. On any block you'll find a diversity of people of all ages - young families, professionals, retirees. The convenie

nce of suburban living within minutes of downtown Madison is hard to beat. One of Madison's oldest communities, Midvale Heights was originally settled in the 1850s. By the early 1950s Midvale Heights real estate was comprised of a variety of subdivisions, including Oakville Heights, Kenmore, Hillview, Third Oak, and Coney Weston. The area's rapid expansion led to the creation of a neighborhood association in 1954, while many parts of Madison, Wisconsin were still being settled. Today, Midvale Heights includes more than 1,300 homes and approximately 1,500 living units spread over 616 acres. The area's long history has produced a wide selection of first class antique homes, featuring two-storey Victorian architecture and large luxurious properties.

Back in 2015 the Midvale Heights Community Association presented Michael Pressman with a “Commissioner” T-shirt to thank him for his volunteer efforts with the neighborhood’s youth baseball league.

This year the City of Madison, Madison Parks, and MHCA will present a special honor to Pressman as he begins his 30th season with the league.

A civic recognition award will be delivered to Pressman and a rare tribute will be announced on Tuesday, June 2 at 5:00pm at Oak Park Heights Park (641 Hilltop Drive) the first day of the 2026 season for Midvale Heights Community Association youth baseball league.

District 11 Alder Bill Tishler, Madison Parks Superintendent Eric Knepp and MHCA President Joy Cardin will present the award.

The community is invited and individuals and families who have participated in Midvale Heights youth baseball are encouraged to attend.

Please join us in thanking MHCA Baseball Commissioner Michael Pressman for his service!

The Buzz in our Gardens: Helping Wisconsin’s Threatened Native Bees.

Please join local native bee expert, citizen scientist and educator Judy Cardin on Saturday, May 30 from 9:30am to 11:00am at the Sequoya Library for a discussion on Wisconsin native pollinators with a particular focus on bumblebee conservation and habitat.

While Wisconsin is home to over 400 native bee species, at least 11 bumblebee species are in serious decline, and the rusty patched bumble bee is a federally endangered bee species, largely due to habitat loss, pesticides, and climate change. Learn more about the problem and solutions and leave with practical ideas on what you can do to get a better buzz in
your garden, community and state.

This event is co-sponsored by the Midvale
Heights Community Association’s Green Team and Sequoya Library.
