Celebrating National Tile Day: A Tribute to Jacob Wiseman

With heavy hearts, we share the unexpected news of the passing of Jacob Wiseman from Madison Pro Services, LLC, last week. Jacob was not just a professional in our field; he was a kind-hearted individual who quickly became a friendly competitor in our community. His ability to teach without formal instruction inspired many, pushing us to educate ourselves and improve, myself included.

In his brief time in Madison, Jacob established a 5-star bathroom remodeling company within just one year of opening. He consistently strived to be the best in our industry, becoming the first Certified Tile Installer in Madison, and later, a licensed home builder. Jacob was a fixture at tile conferences each year, excelling in an Artisan Tile Class that allowed him to expand his craft into mosaic artistry.

Many of us had the pleasure of having him work in our homes, and if you did, you know how genuine his character was. On tough days, he might have had disagreements, but he always made it a point to reach out with an apology soon after. Despite seeing him as a competitor, Jacob was anything but that; he sent more referrals my way than I can count and even declined to bid on projects we both were interested in, prioritizing camaraderie over competition.

Tragically, Jacob departed this world without being able to say goodbye to his beloved son, Thaddeus, who was always at the center of his conversations. My heart goes out to his family during this difficult time.
