All plants are native to south-central Wisconsin and pesticide-free. Our farm is located on Madison's south side.

Did you know that the Wisconsin Monarch Collaborative has a goal of adding 119 MILLION new milkweed stems in Wisconsin by 2038? In our latest episode we talk with Brenna Marsicek about a brand new program called Safe For Monarchs that is making it easier for Wisconsin residents to source plants with safe growing practices that protect the Monarch butterfly. 🦋

We talk about why Wisconsin is uniquely critical in supporting Monarch population health, how we as Wisconsin residents can help, and how the program helps residents find pesticide-free, high impact plants for Monarch habitat. As luck would have it, many Safe For Monarch native plant nurseries are located right here in Dane County! 🦋

Spring 2027 feels like a long way off, but we'll soon begin seed collection and treatments for our spring 2027 native plant offerings. Knowing what people want helps us collect and treat the correct amount of seed and dedicate the right amount of shelf space to grow exactly what you're looking for in the quantities you need.

This is a great fit for you if you would like first pick of plants without quantity limits, would like to bulk order plants for uses as groundcovers (Wild Strawberry, Wild Petunia, etc) or matrix plantings (grasses/sedges), or you just want to make sure you get Rusty Patched Bumble Bee or Monarch Butterfly favorites without risk of them selling out.

Dave Evans is a Fitchburg, Wisconsin resident and has helped contribute to the Fitchburg Sustainability Plan, serves on his HOA’s Eco-Team, and has converted nearly all of his yard to native plantings. We’ll discuss community organization, eco-friendly HOAs, and his lawn to native plant transformation. Link in comments!

We’re starting up a podcast focusing on native plants, conservation, and sustainability with a focus on Dane County and Wisconsin. We have met so many people doing incredible work to support environmental causes in their homes, neighborhoods, community organizations, and businesses and wanted to share these stories so we all can feel more connected locally in our efforts for a better, more sustainable world.
