A Forbes headline from February stopped me cold:

"Don't Age In Place — You Might Want To Move."

Not "maybe." Not "consider alternatives." DON'T.

It's a counterintuitive argument. And an important one.

I unpacked it, pushed back on parts of it, and built a framework around what I think families actually need to hear — including the one question that changes everything when a crisis hits:

"How are we going to take care of Mom?"

Planning ahead doesn't change that question. It changes what's possible when you ask it.

I've organized everything around three paths — in the language families actually use, not medical or real estate jargon.
