After much thought and discussion we have decided that we are hanging up our paint decks for good and closing up shop with the completion of our last few jobs.
Cotton and Clay Interiors grew to a thriving, busy business over the last three plus years and we are so very grateful for everyone’s support.
When the pandemic first hit we assumed we would get right back to it as soon as things settled down. But as that time wore on we each found ourselves changing in unexpected ways. We rediscovered old passions and new ways of participating in them and we discovered brand new activities that sparked joy and allowed us to supplement our lost incomes.
We will always love decorating and we adore our clients. But if we’re being honest, to make a living at it, we would have had to take it to the next level and that took us away from our initial business plan. We started off picking furniture to repurpose and use in clients homes but got so busy we lost that part of our decorating souls and purchasing home decor and furniture for a home is insane right now. Delivery estimates often exceed 12 months.
Tracyne has filled her time painting which has always been her first love. She has been busy in her studio completing pieces for local charities and has sold several commissioned pieces. She has plans of building a larger studio to paint in and display her art for sale.
Aimee spent the first few months canning food, baking bread and gardening like a lot of other people. She has found that she loves these simple activities and is working toward offering her wares publicly. Her family is currently searching for a farm property to do just that.
We lost people during the pandemic. Covid has cost so many everything and changed lives forever. The pandemic also hit a reset button for a lot of people, ourselves included…and that was life changing too. A moment of clarity that allowed us to pause and reassess. We have found new joys and find ourselves happy in our new endeavors.
