Dropseed Native Landscapes Native Plant Nursery specializing in hard-to-find, rare, and ecotypic native plants to the Long Island region. https://bio.dropseednativelandscapesli.com/

Certifications in: NYS CNLP, Audubon HELP, & Center for Bioregional Living Permaculture Design. Featured in Newsday as well as the Long Island Herald! At Dropseed Native Landscapes we care deeply about preserving the local ecology. This includes at the genetic level, where we strive to offer plants of Long Island provenance. This helps preserve the populations of native plants that are the most ad

apted to survival on Long Island, ensuring their genetic resilience persists into the modern world. We specialize in ecotypic, edible, and hard-to-find native plants. We also understand the importance of supporting other local, family-owned businesses. This is why we choose to purchase plants from small family-owned nursery-growers right here on Long Island first, before looking to out of state sources. These are just a few of the many ways we are supporting local business, reducing shipping emissions, and preserving nature for future generations.

Late spring means Rhododendron blooms, including native Azaleas!
Our Swamp Azaleas are beginning to bloom and are creating a heavenly fragrance. Our 'Purpureum Grandiflorum' Catawba Rhododendron are also looking spectacular.
We have multiple cultivars available in both species, providing multiple bloom colors and growth habits. Azaleas and Rhododendrons are highly attractive to bumblebees, butterflies, and hummingbirds!
Additionally, we also have 'Independence' Great Rosebay, which will bloom in a month or so.
