This weeks project completed. It's not recommended to stain a very hard wood like maple, or beech, because the grain doesn't absorb stain even like oak, leaving it looking blotchy, but I think this looks kinda cool and some really neat grains in certain boards.

Stained Bona Antique Brown and finished with 3 coats of Bona Woodline Poly in satin sheen.

Maple sanded and finished with 3 coats of Bona Woodline Poly in satin sheen for some of those old Boston Mill vibes.

First one of the week finished. White pine with old finish sanded and coated with 3 coats of Bona Woodline Poly in satin sheen for a natural look. Over the course of about a year this floor will begin to turn a golden, honey sort of color. With waterbase finish the floor would have been almost white, and would stay that color. Customer wanted something that would darken up to come closer to matching her trim.

These birch floors, one with a pine inlay were a ton of work, my hands, and back are definitely sore, but they cleaned up great with 3 coats of bona woodline poly in satin sheen. But even better than that, I got to spend some time with the cows! What a treat this was. Thankful for the work from Ray at Bela Brook Farm in Dunbarton.
