🌱 Planting Guide

Spacing & Layout:

Centerpiece Shrub: Butterfly Bush or Buttonbush (back or center of the bed) – 5–7 ft spacing.

Tall Accent Plants: Swamp Milkweed & Amsonia – 18–24 in apart, behind or beside centerpiece.

Medium Perennials: Coneflower – 15–18 in apart, mid-layer.

Ground Layer: Mountain Mint & Sedum – 12–15 in apart, toward the front/edges.

Site Conditions:

☀️Sunlight: Full sun (6+ hrs).

🌱Soil: Well-drained, average soil. Swamp milkweed likes slightly moist areas.

💧Watering: Water deeply the first season until established. After that, only during dry spells.

Seasonal Interest:

Spring – Amsonia - lovely blue blooms

Summer – Coneflowers, milkweed, sedum, and butterfly bush in bloom.

Fall – Sedum turns rosy pink; Amsonia foliage turns a butterscotch color.

Winter – Leave seedheads for birds & habitat.

We have fresh flower arrangements currently in our cooler. Let me know if you need one of these for someone special or for your kitchen or dining room. I think the sunflower arrangement in the vase may be my favorite one yet. Also $5 delivery available this week within Coffee County.
