Between growing plants and servicing clients, sometimes we miss out on important spring windows for maintenance around the nursery. One of our gardens next to our greenhouse was just begging for a burn but was a little too green to carry a flame. On of our resourceful crew members suggested using some old straw bales we had laying around and it worked wonderfully!

It’s peak season here at the nursery! The team finished transplanting the first round of seedings last week, just in time for our next round to be sown. Transplants will be moved out of the greenhouses to harden off outside as we get ready for the next crop. Overwintered stock has been consolidated and orders are starting to head out! It may sound simple but we have spent a long time dialing in and balancing this process. No matter how much we prepare, Spring is a time where everything needs to be accomplished at once. We’re lucky to have such a passionate and hard-working team that makes, what seems impossible, happen every season.

These heavy rain events feel like the new norm—and they can create some real headaches for homeowners. But you’re in luck! The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow might just be native plants. 🌈

Rain gardens use deep-rooted native species to slow, filter, and absorb stormwater right where it falls. Instead of water rushing across your yard, creating erosion, pooling, or flooding your foundation, a rain garden gives it a place to settle in and soak.

The result?
✨ Less runoff
✨ Less erosion
✨ Cleaner water
✨ A healthier yard
✨ Bonus habitat for pollinators

What starts as a problem spot can become one of the most beautiful and hardworking areas of your landscape.

Curious what plants thrive in a rain garden or where to place one on your property? Dont hesitate to reach out. Let’s turn all that rain into something good. 🌿💧
