When "Fixing a Squeak" saves your whole house! 🏠🎸

This homeowner called us out because their door threshold felt a little "soft." One look revealed the truth: the subfloor was turning into mulch (swipe to see the rot!).

The Culprit? Improper Flashing. ❌

The original deck was bolted to the house without a moisture barrier/flashing. Over time, water trapped behind the ledger board acted like a sponge, rotting the rim joist and the subfloor right under the homeowner's feet.

To do this right, we performed a total structural "re-tune":

• The Surgery: We disassembled the deck to reach the rot, replaced the structural rim joist, and rebuilt the internal subfloor.

• The Rockstar Seal: We installed proper flashing and joist tape on every bit of new framing to stop rot before it starts. Not just protection, longevity.🛡️

• The Upgrade: Rebuilt the deck from the ground up as well as installing a brand-new door (properly waterproofed the entrance).

The Rockstar Difference:

✅ Solid concrete pier footings for maximum stability.

✅ Modern black balusters and a clean, natural finish.

A truck dropping a dumpster at a job site got just a bit to close to this building and clipped this block wall in Nashville and knocked a chunk clean out of the block.

After a frantic call from my friend at the dumpster company, our crew rebuilt the corner with structural anchors, reinforcement mesh, and a concrete repair compound. After shaping the block back to its original form, not only did we match the texture of the wall, we hand-matched the paint and mural so the repair blended back in.

Now you’d never know it happened.

This is Shane, our lead carpenter and project manager, doing something most people will never notice.

Those small wood plugs?

Shane custom-made them to cover the holes from the newel post screw system that secures this mantel to the wall. But here’s the thing, he’s not just installing them… he’s checking the grain direction to make sure it blends seamlessly.

Why go that far when no one will ever see the top of the mantel?

Because every detail matters.

🏡 From top to bottom, this project tells a story of craftsmanship done right.

The Trex deck up top catches the eye — floating on a sleek system and framed with custom-built railing — but there’s more to the story here.

👇 Down below, that bay window had been a chronic problem since the home was built. The original builder used Bondo and Hardie board, and the paint just wouldn’t stick. We tore it all out and rebuilt it with solid cedar, properly primed and painted — now it’s built to last.

We also rebuilt and rescreened the entire porch, replacing all the interior trim (which was rotting away) with custom cedar trim that’s both functional and beautiful.

And to finish it off? We handcrafted a custom cedar screen door, replacing the failing original and making sure it opens and closes perfectly — no turnbuckles, no sag, just smooth operation and clean lines.

Every detail tells the same story: Rockstar craftsmanship that fixes what others leave behind.🤘
