Reminder: Change Your Furnace Filter!

A dirty filter restricts airflow, causing your furnace to work harder to heat your home. This can lead to overheating, triggering the high-limit safety switch—a built-in mechanism that shuts down the furnace to prevent damage. Furnace lockouts due to high-limit switches are more common than you might think, especially periods of heavy use during deep cold snaps.

To prevent furnace lockouts:
• Check your furnace filter monthly and replace it if it’s dirty.
• On very cold days ensure all vents are open & clear of obstructions for proper airflow.

Taking these steps will not only prevent unnecessary furnace lockouts but also help your system run more efficiently, saving energy and money. Stay warm and safe this winter!
