The dirt has been flying over the last two months! We are incredibly grateful to our wonderful clients, communities, and friends for having been involved in four monumental moments. The Hays Arts Center began their largest renovation in their organization’s history. The Yuma Street Cultural Center broke ground on a premier cultural and entrepreneurial venue that will be an attraction throughout the state. Sunflower Flats dug in to begin the process of providing 62 new living units for Manhattan’s senior population in the historic downtown district. CiCo Park knocked it out of the park for the first pitches and the new generation of sporting activity at the 60-year-old park.

This could not have been possible without the communities we call home, the clients who trust us with their projects, donors who believe in the vision, and years of effort from everyone involved. We thank our design consultants, contractors, city governments, and numerous other organizations.

Thank you!

In 2022, we looked back on the previous decade and calculated $30 million in built work over a ten-year period. Well, we’re doing it again! Except this time, it’s $30 million in four years! Together, all of the projects in nearly fifteen years have contributed $60 million to build the arts, places of worship, affordable housing, recreation spaces, and businesses. For every dollar spent in the construction industry, it contributes nearly $3 in economic impact meaning our little firm has had a little part in $180 million in economic impact over the last one and a half decades. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your vision!

Last week Garric was able to head to Washington, D.C. to attend the annual Young Architect’s Forum Annual Meeting. The organization has a state representative from all fifty states, territories, and international members representing architects that have been licensed for ten years or less. The aim is to help bring resources together for their peers, steer the future of the profession, and grow the next generation of architects. This year’s annual meeting was held at AIA’s national headquarters and the team heard from AIA’s president Illya Azaroff, FAIA.

Congratulations to the Hays Arts Council! This afternoon they had their "last brush strokes" event rather than a groundbreaking to celebrate the beginning of their big renovation project! Guests were able to leave their mark on the building before construction is set to begin next week.

We're excited to be working with Downtown Dance, Tumbling & Aerial Arts on their upcoming expansion project! Late last year they were awarded a Community Development Block Grant to expand into an unoccupied second floor. Flint Hills Regional Council has been instrumental in helping secure the grant.

Thank you, BHS Construction, Inc. For another successful project!

Big news for downtown Manhattan and the affordable housing community! Sunflower Flats is officially permit ready! A big thank you to the project team and the City of Manhattan for making this project a reality. The next steps in the process are:

1. HUD reviews the documents for final approval.
2. The City Commission reviews the final development agreement.
3. We get the shovels ready!
