Not every moment in a home needs to be grand to be meaningful.

Here, a pair of tall, high-gloss white cabinets quietly frame a small antique furniture piece—layered with personal objects, books, and memory. The cabinetry itself is intentionally restrained in width, but generous in height and depth, offering space for the things that matter without being overwhelming in presence.

I’ve always felt these quieter corners are just as important as the larger gestures. They give you somewhere to pause, to reflect, to live with the space in a more personal way.

Even within a substantial project like this Nashville home, it’s these smaller moments that often stay with you.

In a smaller kitchen, more discipline is required—every detail has to work a little harder, and there’s no room for excess.

This one, from our Scullery Collection, is finished in a soft white that allows the cabinetry to feel timeless from the outset. I’ve paired it with our signature polished brass hardware—drawer pulls and latches that bring just enough warmth and definition without interrupting the calm.

What I particularly enjoy is the contrast just beyond the kitchen. A small wet bar, set into its own niche, crafted from dark stained oak. Against the white interior, the grain becomes the focus—rich, expressive, and entirely natural. Finished with polished nickel hardware, it feels like its own moment, while still belonging to the overall composition. Honestly, that’s what makes a kitchen feel complete; not just the main space, but the way it connects to everything around it.

“Do you still do white kitchens?”

It’s a question I’m asked quite often—and I think it comes down to how we define white.

What most people are really referring to is white cabinetry. I have it in my own home, and yet the kitchen doesn’t feel white at all. It’s layered—with color, with texture, with contrast.

Here, for example, we’ve introduced bold leather interiors and richly detailed wall coverings.
So the space never feels sterile. It feels warm, considered, and lived in.

For me, that’s the point. White cabinetry isn’t a limitation—it’s a foundation. And when it’s handled properly, it never goes out of style.

A well-designed butler’s pantry should feel as capable as it is composed.

Here, the deep navy cabinetry sets a confident foundation—its hand-brushed matte finish absorbing light and giving the room a sense of depth. I’ve paired it with a white marble countertop to keep the balance crisp, and polished nickel hardware from our Refectory Collection to add a presence that feels substantial without being overwhelming.

The upper cabinets are fitted with glass fronts, which I find both practical and reassuring—you can see exactly what you need, while everything remains protected and in order. And, of course, storage is considered at every level, so the space can genuinely support the rhythm of a busy kitchen.

I often describe the butler’s pantry as the ‘workhorse’ of a kitchen. It’s where preparation, presentation, and overflow all happen—sometimes all at once. When designed properly, it becomes indispensable.

I’ve always believed a kitchen should feel resolved—nothing unnecessary, nothing overlooked.

In this space with our Scullery collection of cabinetry, the hand-brushed matte white paint creates a quiet backdrop that lets proportion and craftsmanship lead. I’m particularly drawn to the soft blue of the La Cornue range—it brings just enough character, without overwhelming the room. The polished trim, together with our brass hardware and the muted tone of the hood above, creates a sense of continuity that feels effortless.

For me, this is what timeless kitchen design is about. A restrained palette, carefully considered, where every material understands its role.

There are certain spaces that resonate without needing to announce themselves.

This built-in cabinetry, set within a naturally lit dining room just off the kitchen, is one I often return to. The hand-brushed pale blue finish has a softness to it—something that shifts gently with the light throughout the day. Paired with a white marble countertop and our polished nickel hardware, it creates a feeling that is both light and composed.

Pieces like this tend to stay with people. Not because they’re overstated, but because the balance feels right. The proportions, the materials, the way it sits so comfortably within the room—it all works together in a way that feels effortless.

For me, that’s the essence of well-designed cabinetry. Quiet, functional, and enduringly beautiful.

A dressing room, at its best, is not simply a place to store clothing. It is a study in order, ritual, and restraint.

Here, dark walnut cabinetry sets a rich and quietly commanding tone. Personally, I love how the depth of the wood absorbs light rather than reflecting it, creating a mood that feels both intimate and intentional. This is really where material choice becomes more than aesthetic; it shapes how the room is experienced.

We designed the glass-front cabinets to offer a measured, convenient glimpse of your tailored suits. The open shelving nearby, lined in leather, provides a considered home for your dress shoes and accessories. Even the smallest elements are accounted for, too, with custom drawer inserts designed to store ties neatly away.

This is the principle of functional beauty. Every detail serves a purpose, yet nothing feels purely utilitarian. The result is a space that feels as composed as the wardrobe it holds.

The second you step into a luxury kitchen you really do feel it.

It’s not about excess—it’s about balance. Here, the cabinetry is finished in a calm, dove blue. It allows the space to settle, rather than demand attention.

I’ve always believed the details should quietly reveal themselves, and this space is all about that: the concealed coffee station, the warmth of the wood beneath the island, and the clarity of a well-proportioned pantry.

What I really adore is the polished nickel hardware and its ability to add just the right amount of reflection. It’s enough to feel refined, but never too much to distract. For me, that’s what defines a well-designed kitchen. It feels considered the moment you enter—and continues to reward you the longer you live with it.
