This week I am excited to be sharing what I’ve dubbed the Collected & Considered Gift Guide over on our Substack newsletter, The Slate.

D’Agostino Kitchen Reveal ✨ After years in Florida, these homeowners returned to New England ready to make their house feel like theirs again. 💡 Let’s talk undercabinet lighting!
Because it’s one of those little details that makes a big impact—both aesthetically and functionally.
Some Pros:
✔️ Great task lighting for meal prep
✔️ Adds a warm, ambient glow in the evening
✔️ Can highlight beautiful tile or countertops
Some Cons:
➖ Not always necessary if your kitchen already has layered lighting
➖ Can add to electrical costs and timeline

So when does it make sense? I love incorporating it in kitchens where function meets mood—think open-concept spaces or anywhere you want that soft evening glow as you wind down for the day. Not every kitchen needs it, but when it fits, it really shines.
