Today is World Bee Day and it’s a bee-autiful day here at Hume’s Blooms! 🐝🌸

We just installed our new observation bee hive, and we couldn’t bee more excited… okay, okay, we’ll stop now! 😄 A huge thank you to Draper’s Super B Apiaries for sharing their expertise and a wealth of bee knowledge with us.

Stop in and try one of our new “Buzzworthy” menu items inspired by our busy little friends, then take a stroll through the greenhouse and see if you can find some blooms to help feed your bees at home. We’ve also got lots of new annuals, perennials, and houseplants arriving daily! 🌼🍯🌿

The seasons are changing… and so are we! 🌸☀️

What a way to start the day! 🌿😅

I would currently describe our greenhouse as a “beautiful disaster!” This morning’s delivery brought nearly 1,000 plants, including about 100 fun new hanging baskets! 🌸🪴

We also still have just a few of our gorgeous Passion Flower baskets and Lavender Topiaries in stock, and they are absolutely stunning.

Now excuse us while we try to figure out where to put everything! 😂 Stop in and see what’s new, the greenhouse is filling up fast and it’s definitely starting to feel like spring around here.

Chris and I would like to take a moment to thank everyone for the thoughts and kind words yesterday. Many of you know, or have seen our son Christopher and daughter-in-law Casey running around here helping wherever they’re needed. We’ve never met two harder working or more safety-conscious people in our lives. They check, then double-check their equipment every time they start a job.

Yesterday morning, while working on their house, there was what we can only describe as a freak accident. One of the ladders being used on a scaffolding broke, causing the scaffolding to fall with both of them on it. Thankfully, they are both stable and beginning the recovery process.

We are incredibly grateful for the first responders, medical teams, family, friends, and community members who have reached out and offered support. It has meant more to us than we can possibly express.

That being said, we will be open today. Our hope is to maintain normal business hours, but depending on how the day goes for our team and family, we may close a little early. We will keep everyone updated if anything changes.

Thank you again for your patience, understanding, and support as we do whatever we can to help Christopher and Casey through their recovery. 💚
