We thought we were just being our goofy selves at the Giant Sing Along Minnesota State Fair . 🎶❤️

Then a stranger captured this moment.

13 years of marriage has taught me that the best relationships aren't about perfection. They're about friendship, laughter, showing up for each other, and finding joy in the ordinary moments.

The same values that guide my marriage are the values that guide my work: connection, presence, and caring for people well.

Walking through this year’s Artisan Home Tour felt different in the best way.

Yes, the homes were stunning—but what stood out most was the shift toward intentional living.

Spaces that feel layered, personal, and deeply livable.
From warmer tones to thoughtful functionality, every detail tells a story about how we want to live now—not just how we want things to look.

✨ A few highlights I’m taking with me: Texture on texture (done beautifully)
• Softer, warmer palettes replacing stark contrasts
• Spaces designed for real life—pantries, mudrooms, and all
• Light used with purpose, not just abundance
• Comfort becoming the new definition of luxury

This is where design is heading—and it’s a direction I love.

This is what peace looks like 🤍

Not quiet mornings or perfectly still moments…
but laughter, sunshine, and the people who feel like home.

Peace is in these memories—
in the way we show up for each other,
in the joy we create together,
in the moments that remind us what really matters.
✨ The laughter
✨ The love
✨ The feeling of being fully present

This is why we protect our peace.
So we have more of this.

There are seasons where we measure success by how much we can carry.

How fast we can move.
How full the calendar looks.

And then there are moments like this—
where nothing is being optimized, rushed, or achieved…
and yet everything important is happening.

Presence.
Connection.
Breath.

Slowing down isn’t falling behind.
It’s choosing to be fully here.

If you’ve been feeling the pull to do less, to soften your pace—
maybe that’s not a weakness.
Maybe that’s wisdom calling.
