How Often Should a Mini Split Be Cleaned?
I’m sure you already know how to change or clean your filters but, did you know that mini splits also require deep cleaning?
Ideally, you should have your mini split system deep-cleaned annually.
Although cleaning the air filters regularly is good practice, it doesn’t take the place of deep cleaning that will get rid of mold and microbial contamination build up in the unit.
The result of a dirty unit? Lousy air quality that makes you feel crummy that could trigger asthma, allergy, and COPD symptoms. Loss of correct air flow causes higher electric bills as your system tries to work despite being bogged down with gunk.
But the solution is simple! A quick cleaning once a year gives you peace of mind that your home is comfortable, and your air is healthy.
