It’s National Dog Biscuit day which brings us episode 10 of Meet the Staff!!

Meet Andrew!

Andrew is our newest addition to the crew — basically a modern-day Tim the Toolman Taylor, minus the TV show and plus a little more humility. There’s not a tool he can’t fetch… mainly because we keep sending him back to the truck for a different one every five minutes. In all seriousness Andrew brings a great work ethic to the hardscape team and is the glue that keeps RT (Ep. 3) held together!

We’re still figuring Andrew out. He’s quiet, mysterious, and speaks mostly in nods — unless you bring up his state championships. Then suddenly, he’s got stories, stats, and possibly a highlight reel ready to go.

Outside of work, we’re pretty sure his closest (and possibly only) buddy is his loyal fur companion, Leonard. And truthfully, if Andrew didn’t show up each week with cupcakes in hand, his employment status might be up for review

But hey — strong work ethic, championship mindset, and a man who’ll do just about anything. We’ve got high hopes!

National Tarter Sauce Day(go get yourself some fish) presents to you Episode 9 of Meet the Staff!

Meet Drew!

Drew is our Mr. Utility Man — the Swiss Army knife of Pleiman. Wherever we need him, he somehow figures it out. Patios? Yep. New installs? Of course. Random problem no one else wants? Toss it to Drew. Just don’t toss it to him before 10 a.m. — that version of Drew is still in power-saving mode and operating at about 12%.

Drew — or “Doug,” depending on who you ask (and honestly, he answers to both) — has been landscaping since he was 16. And yes, you have to say that in the most squeaky, teenage voice possible for full effect.

Fresh off a recent engagement to his beautiful fiancée, Drew is officially entering adulthood… whether he’s ready or not.

In his spare time, he enjoys bowling, frisbee golf, and hanging out with his buddies. Although, according to those same buddies, he actually prefers spending quality time with his cat, Jingles. Rumor has it Jingles has been to the park more times this month than most of us — and we’re not saying Drew has baby-talk conversations with her… but we’re also not not saying that.

Fun Fact: Doug loves anything Harry Potter related! He’s read the books over 100 times according to him and he annually dresses up as Harry himself for Halloween! EXPELLIARMUS! 🪄

National Airboat Day provides us with Episode 8 of Meet the Staff!

Another Cole!

Cole is the man who keeps your yards looking in tip-top shape! If you see someone puttering around on a fertilizer buggy, you can bet it’s him. Give him a honk — he’ll be sure not to hear you! Cole is also our full-time trucker. Anything that needs picked up or dropped off, he’ll be there in a jiffy. He’s been landscaping for 10 years and enjoys every minute of it! And yes… he’s also colorblind — so if the flowers look “extra creative,” just trust the process.

In Cole’s spare time, he thoroughly enjoys hitting the golf course, where his game is actually exceptionally well (at least according to him). He also plays frisbee golf and links up with friends online for some serious gaming sessions. Pickleball is another passion — where he talks like he’s ranked nationally but mostly just dominates the 70-and-over league. He recently picked up a new hobby in rabbit hunting, where he claims to be the next Annie Oakley… but is still slightly hesitant to actually touch a rabbit.

Cole is a loyal fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the legendary “Factory of Sadness,” the Cleveland Browns— so he’s used to staying optimistic no matter what the scoreboard says.

Ash Wendsday and Episode 7 of Meet the staff!

Bringing you Alex

Alex is the self-proclaimed best trimmer in the tri-state area… and he’ll argue with anyone who dares disagree. Alex has been in the landscape industry for 15 years, so he knows all the ins and outs of anything mulch related. When it comes to pavers? Instant allergy. Tape measures? Might as well ask a toddler. Alex is also in charge of our Christmas Lights operations and we truly believe he actually thinks he is Clark Griswald.

He’s the “creative genius” behind all our other episodes, which mostly means he comes up with ideas and then mysteriously disappears. In the winter months he’s probably plotting the next parade float or taking a nap, we’ll never know.

Alex is happily married and the proud dad of one sweet little girl. When he’s not working, he’s camping with his family, attempting to figure out golf (progress: questionable), learning how to survive a pickleball court, and somehow choosing puzzles as his “relaxing” hobby. Nothing says free time like staring at 1,000 tiny cardboard pieces for 6 hours.

He’s also a lifelong fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish—so he’s well trained in emotional highs, crushing lows, and confidently yelling advice at the TV like the coaches are listening. He also loves rooting for any NFL team that is playing against the team his friends are rooting for!!!

The Chinese New Year addition of Meet the Staff; Episode 6!

Meet Guy!

You don't have to look far to find Guy — he's either in a skid loader, tractor, or excavator, avoiding anything that resembles standing still. As our main equipment operator, he moves dirt all day, until quittin time! When winter comes, Guy moves into the shop as our head mechanic, which explains why if you ever see a Pleiman truck parked on the side of the road... well... Guy's doing his best.
Guy is a seasoned veteran with "way more years of experience" than anyone can actually verify. He's happily married with two girls, enjoys hunting, a few (or several) adult beverages, and if you can't find him anywhere else, check the garage - where he may be taking the Spelling Bee way more seriously than necessary.

Presidents Day edition of Meet The Staff, Episode 5!

Andy is the guy who somehow ends up in every meeting the bosses “couldn’t make” (translation: they suddenly remembered they had something better to do). When he’s not out in the field, he’s holding down shared office space with Cole and perfecting the fine art of looking busy during paperwork. With 21 years of experience and more landscape certifications than anyone can count, Andy came back from his short city tour with a handful of fancy tricks—successfully using at least one of them a solid 60% of the time. He’s an old-school, kind soul always ready to help… unless it involves welding, then he suddenly remembers he has “very important supervising” to do.

At home, he’s outnumbered by two wild boys, which is why the job site sometimes feels like a vacation. A loyal Cleveland Browns fan, Andy spends Sundays cheering, Mondays breaking down what went wrong, and the offseason confidently saying, “Next year’s our year.” And if you’re wondering what’s in his lunch bucket — relax, it’s a tur
key sandwich… exactly like yesterday

Friday the 13th Brings us Episode 4 of Meet The Staff!

Teresa is the sweet, calming voice you hear when you call the office… mostly because she’s been professionally managing chaos for 35 years. As our secretary and lead designer, she’s the pretty face behind the Pleiman Landscaping name and the mastermind who somehow turns your “random backyard thoughts” into an actual plan. Her real full-time job? Keeping all the boys in line — a task that deserves hazard pay and possibly a medal.

If you stop by the office, don’t be alarmed if you find Teresa bouncing on an exercise ball while answering phones, fixing schedules, and redesigning a patio at the same time — it’s part of the process. A proud Cincinnati State grad, she’s spent 22 years at Pleiman’s perfecting the art of patience.

When she’s off the clock, you’ll find her on the golf course with her hubby, spoiling her grandbaby, or relaxing on the patio with a refreshing can of Dr. Pepper… enjoying the rare sound of nobody asking her a question.

Rolling along with Episode 3 of Meet The Staff!

Meet Ryan — the last of Pleiman Landscaping’s three owners and self-proclaimed Mr. Do-It-All… as long as it involves Milwaukee tools and not spreading mulch. If he doesn’t know how to do something, don’t worry — one YouTube video later and he’s suddenly a “certified professional.”

You’ll usually find Ryan driving around “looking extremely busy” with his loyal sidekick (Episode 10), or being the guy responsible for turning Cole’s famous “we’ll figure it out” ideas into actual work. Somehow, he always makes it happen.

At home, Ryan and his beautiful wife are outnumbered by their three girls — whether it’s camping, gaming with the kids, chasing around the cat, cruising the golf cart, or settling in for movie night. And in his free time, Ryan hits the golf course, where his confidence is tour-level… even if his scorecard strongly disagrees.

Our pilot episode was such a success that we’re bringing you Episode 2 of Meet the Staff!

Meet Cole — one of the three masterminds behind Pleiman Landscaping. If you can’t find him, check two places: his office (where he’s “very busy”) or his truck, where he’s been on the same phone call since 2007. With 28 years of landscaping under his belt, Cole is the king of hardscape quotes, big ideas, and confidently saying, “Yeah, we can do that,” before figuring out how later.

When he’s not solving the world’s patio problems, Cole’s hanging with his kids, tending to his horses, riding the emotional rollercoaster of being a Bengals fan, or relaxing on the lake — probably still answering his phone

Episode 1 of Meet the Staff:

Meet Ryan!
Ryan is one of the three owners of Pleiman Landscaping and has been making things happen for 28 years (he’ll tell you he started when he was about 12). A graduate of The Ohio State ATI in Wooster with a degree in Landscape Contracting and Construction, Ryan now spends plenty of his time paying bills, sending quotes, and keeping everything running behind the scenes.
Ryan is happily married and a proud dad of seven — basically a full-time chaos coordinator. When he’s not working, you’ll find him on the golf course, in a deer stand, or trying to win a card game (and insisting he was winning all along).
We’re lucky to have Ryan’s experience, leadership, and sense of humor helping lead Pleiman Landscaping!
