Donofro Architects, teaming with the City of Marianna, DHM Melvin Engineering, Johnson Associates Engineering, Zgouvas Eiring Engineering, HGE, and CGM Construction is extremely appreciative to have the opportunity to be involved with the design and construction of this state of the art Public Safety Building, which will improve public safety services and add to the growing number of exciting new projects reshaping downtown Marianna.

The new 20,000 sq. ft. City of Marianna Public Safety Building—housing the Police Department, Fire Department, and City Commissioners meeting room—is now 60% complete. Masons are installing brick veneer and cast stone, the roofing subcontractor is working on the sub-roof assembly, and crews continue rough-in work for plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and fire alarm systems. Interior framing and drywall are finished in key areas, including the Police wing, Commission meeting room, public lobby, and Fire Department spaces.

Remaining overhead utilities along Green Street will be removed soon.

The building is expected to be dried in with windows, storefront, curtain wall, and roof systems by late March or early April, with substantial completion targeted for late June. Donofro Architects and project partners thank the City of Marianna for their collaboration on this important downtown project.

Donofro Architects is pleased to have the opportunity to partner with the City of Marianna and DHM Melvin Engineering for the design and construction of a new 8.5 million dollar Multi -court recreational gymnasium to be constructed at Marianna's M.E.R.E recreational complex located just off of the Caverns Hwy..

The 26,989 sf facility is designed to accommodate 2 FHSA regulation basketball courts, 4 volleyball courts, 6 pickleball courts and fixed bleacher seating for approx 400 spectators. In addition to serving as a recreational facility the building is being designed to serve the community and region as an short term emergency shelter to house approximately 500 persons during storm events. The facility will also be marketed by the city to attract regional basketball, volleyball and pickleball tournaments.

To serve both the recreational aspects and the emergency shelter aspects of the facility the structure includes locker rooms, toilet rooms and showers, as well as administrative office space, a small concession stand, a combination lobby and small food court, equipment storage areas and an ample covered entrance that also can be used as a small outdoor pavilion for snacking and socializing between games.

Civil and Structural Engineering was handled by DHM Engineering from Marianna, Architectural and Interior design by Donofro Architects from Marianna, Mechanical Engineering by Watford Engineering from Marianna and Electrical Engineering by Humber Garick Engineering out of Ft. Walton. Construction is expected to begin in the 4th quarter of 2025 and construction completed late 2026 or early 2027.

Donofro Architects is proud to announce that after years of planning and design work, construction on the new $8.5 million City of Marianna Public Safety building is now underway in downtown Marianna.

The new Public Safety Building, which is approximately 20,000 sf, will house the Marianna Police Department, the Marianna Fire Department, and the new City Commission Assembly room. Construction is being handled by CGM Construction Group, and Donofro Architects' consultants include DHM Engineering, Johnson Associates Engineering, Zgouvas Eiring Engineering, and HG Engineering. Construction is scheduled to be completed in early 2026.

Donofro Architects is proud to announce that construction of the new Rural Health Clinic & Medical Office Building @ Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay, Florida, is about to get underway. The 6,000 sf 1.8 million dollar facility was designed by Donofro Architects and will be constructed by Bear General Contractors out of Pensacola.

The facility will accommodate 12 exam rooms, 3 physician offices, a procedure room, a lab, and a nurses station and is designed to be architecturally and aesthetically compatible with the existing hospital building. Construction is slated to be completed late in 2025.

Donofro Architects is collaborating with Renaissance Youth Park, DHM Melvin Engineering, and REG Architects in the re-development, refurbishment, and renovation of the 2-story Historic Graham's Place building located at the corner of Orange and Borden Street in the West End Community section of Marianna, Fl.

The $750,000.00 project will involve re-developing the first floor into leasable office or business space and the 2nd floor into a community meeting or assembly room that can be used for a variety of community and business events. The project will include a new entrance porch, new H/C toilet rooms, a new elevator, a small food prep kitchen, a new roof structure, new windows, new doors, and new egress stairs.

Once complete, the restored building located at a focal point in the West End Community will act as a catalyst in the redevelopment of this Historic commercial business district by providing an iconic architectural building that will encourage activity and business development.
