I'm not much on selfies. I just never think of it, when I start a project, the work takes over. This was an exception. I wanted to take a few pictures of me taking down the old door. This old 18x7 wood door sure was heavy, but I still got it!

Does anyone see anything odd in this picture? If you said “Hey, that garage door opener chain looks like it’s a little loose.”, you’re right! In fact, the chain on this Liftmaster chain drive opener is ridiculously loose, because it’s drive gear is broken. My customers regularly text me pictures of their door or opener problem. If you’re thinking of calling to set up an appointment for a repair, please have available a pic or two that shows the problem, the entire inside of the door and one of the outside. Garage doors come off track from time to time. When they do, a professional garage door repair company is usually required to set it right. This 16x7 steel door came off track on Sunday and the homeowner instinctively tried to solve the problem himself, unsuccessfully. Sadly he made the situation worse which made the repair more involved and costly than it would have been if he hadn't tried to fix it. I had to replace bent track and completely reset the springs and drums because he loosened the drum set screws. Still, the repair cost only $189. If this happens to your garage door, please don't try to fix it yourself. Just call 678-607-6046 to get on my calendar.

Tom had a broken Torquemaster spring on his Wayne Dalton door. I replaced it with the torsion spring system seen in this picture. At the end he told me that the "Big Name" garage door company that was there before me quoted him a price basically twice my price. Let me rephrase that. My price was HALF of their price!

His 16x8 garage door was having roller, top fixture and torsion cable issues. It was in danger of falling out of the tracks and one of the cables was very close to snapping. Fortunately I was able to get these issues solved so he can get a little more life out of the door while they save for a new one.
