My high school CB handle was H***y Tonk Angel (and yes, I still claim it to this day). The irony is that I walked away from country music decades ago… until recently.
My ex-husband—a Wilson by name, different blood but same heart, married to a gem of a woman I’m lucky to call a friend—shared a live Stephen Wilson Jr. performance with me. It pulled me right back in.
People often ask how I name my CandlestickCoasters . It’s easily one of my favorite parts of the process, which is why I stopped in my tracks this morning when I realized this piece made it out to my terrace without ever properly being introduced.
It was never meant to be sold. Just fixed.
I met a repeat client to retrieve this broken black tabletop, intending to repair it. When I rummaged through my shed looking for a base, I realized the exact twisted wrought iron candle holder it needed was already sitting there waiting.
It didn’t take long to find its name: Twisted Jr.
Sometimes healing takes time. Sometimes what comes out on the other side looks completely different than you planned. As someone whose life has twisted and turned again and again, this will never be a piece I just look at and think is “pretty.”
Like the CMA-nominated Stephen Wilson Jr. sings: God is good. Life is twisted.
I’m grateful every single day that I get to see the beauty in the broken, and find the silver linings and rainbows in between. It’s never just a name—it’s the stories, the grit, and the healing behind them that make them what they are.
Twisted Jr. is officially joining the home collection. (yes, another one). đź–¤
