Patience is a virtue—and if you know me, two sides of the same coin when it comes to my strengths and weaknesses—so this 10-week wait is definitely going to test me. ⏳✨

I picked up these vintage Uttermost candlestick holders last summer, knowing they were destined for something special. Uttermost has been family-owned since 1975, originally named after the phrase to reach the “uttermost part of the earth”—which feels fitting given the presence and character these sculptural bases carry.

The moment the Artesanos algorithm worked its magic and showed me their hand-hammered verdigris patina copper tops, I couldn’t envision anything else. I have to create these CandlestickCoasters!

This AI concept plan is the blueprint for the final pair of statement side tables. Now the countdown begins until the custom tops arrive from Artesanos so the real build can start!

Some pieces are just written in the stars—and this one proved that what’s meant for you will always find its way back.

Have you ever passed on a vintage piece, regretted it immediately, and then realized you had no idea where you’d even seen it in the first place?

THE SERENDIPITOUS STORY

The Top: I was perusing the amazingly talented makers at the Marietta Square Artisan Market when I spotted the ultimate top created by The Modern Maximalist by MK . Her work is simply divine—the flawless craftsmanship, crystal-clear depth, and delicate balance of pressed florals make it a true showstopper. I did not what I would do with it, but I knew I had to have it.

The Twist: A few years ago, I came across a gorgeous 19th-century candlestick base originating from Leeds, England, but passed on it due to the price. I regretted it for ages, but couldn’t for the life of me remember where I’d seen it. Then, on the exact same day I picked up MK’s top, that missing candlestick base randomly reappeared at the Marietta Antique Mall!

THE FINISHED PIECE

The result is a dream pairing: rich, intricate 19th-century English architectural detail down below, balanced by MK’s vibrant, modern maximalist flora on top.

I originally planned to create a new CandlestickCoasters to sell, but as soon as it was paired, I knew I couldn’t part with it.

Every maker has to keep a few gems (or 12), right? 🙌✨

Checkmate! “The Chessmate” has officially sold! ♟️

When I saw this vintage candlestick holder, the sculpted, twisted base reminded me immediately of a classic chess piece.

I ordered a custom wood game board top from Chris'N'Carrie's made specifically for this base to transform it into a functional table.

Next month, CandlestickCoasters hits the 3-year mark! 🎉

Three years of scouting vintage candlesticks, getting my hands dirty, and creating functional art for your homes. It has been a wild, rewarding ride, and I am incredibly grateful for everyone who has supported this journey along the way. Now, we are celebrating how far we have come while keeping our eyes firmly on what lies ahead.

Meeting a repeat client for the first time today was a powerful reminder of why I love what I do. 🖤

One of her favorite pieces broke, which led to us meeting up so I could honor my replacement guarantee. While I don’t do money-back refunds, I will always replace your piece at equal value to make it right.
