The Veterans Airport of Southern Illinois in Marion will be conducting a Full-Scale Exercise on Saturday, May 30th, 2026 from 1pm to 4 pm.

This exercise is to test the Airport’s Emergency Plan and Response to a simulated airplane crash. You will see various emergency response vehicles on the airfield and in the surrounding areas.

This is an EXERCISE and not a real emergency event.

Please do not report the EXERCISE as an emergency on social media or notify 911.

Jonesboro CCSD #43 is getting a roof replacement this week! With today’s high in Jonesboro reaching 83°F, it might feel like the perfect pool day, but for construction crews and our site observers, it means an early start. Work is kicking off at 6 AM to help beat the heat.

If you are, or know, someone working in construction or spending long hours outdoors, please encourage them to take safety seriously. Staying hydrated, taking frequent breaks, wearing light, breathable clothing, and scheduling work outside peak sun hours (11 AM – 4 PM) can make all the difference. Hats and protective gear are essential when working in the sun for extended periods.

Stay safe out there and take care of one another! ☀️👷‍♂️

We’re so happy to be a sponsor of such an amazing event for our kiddos at Unity Christian school in Herrin, IL!

Engineers truly are the jelly to our peanut butter. Architects and engineers work hand-in-hand every day, without engineering expertise, we wouldn’t always know if our designs are feasible or how to bring them to life.

And sometimes, the best architects and engineers are kids. Their imaginations have no limits, anything is possible. When we encourage that creativity, give them the right tools, and support the development of those early engineering skills, we help them unlock their potential at a young age. They begin to see the world of engineering all around them.

These kids are the future of our roads, bridges, plumbing, electricity, and so much more. They will literally help shape the foundation of our communities. Imagine if they can start discovering that passion now, when learning is fun and curiosity leads the way.

Programs like this make a huge difference. Let’s continue to support our schools, STEM education, and the next generation of innovators.

Does your child love hands-on learning, building, and creative problem-solving? This summer, we invite them to join us for our next Discovery Morning- Engineering on Saturday, July 25 from 8:30 AM–Noon at Unity Christian School! Whether your student dreams of designing structures, inventing solutions, or simply loves hands-on learning, this is a memorable experience they won’t want to miss!

This exciting one-day, hands-on academic enrichment experience designed for students ages 3-14 will be led by local engineers and SIU engineering students. Students will be grouped by grade level and work in teams as they explore age-appropriate engineering concepts through interactive challenges designed to spark creativity, teamwork, and critical thinking.

School’s Out… Let the Work Begin!

As schools wrap up for summer break over the next few days, the classrooms may be empty, but the work is just getting started.

After months of planning, designing, bidding, and permitting, projects are finally moving into the construction phase. This is where all that hard work comes to life! Our team passes the baton to the contractors, whose work kicks into high gear over the summer months.

From small renovations to major additions, you’ll find crews hard at work in hallways and classrooms while students and teachers enjoy a well-deserved break.

When everyone returns in the fall, they’ll walk into refreshed, improved spaces, and we’ll already be gearing up for the next summer season.

Monday Project Spotlight 🌟

Today we’re looking back at a renovation for Crab Orchard CUSD #3!
This project included abatement, replacement, and full renovation of several restroom spaces at the school. Both the men’s and women’s restrooms were updated, along with a single-user restroom and janitor’s closet. The result? Spaces that are now up to code, brighter, and more modern for students and staff.

Our team will be back on-site again this summer as additional renovations and upgrades continue. We’re excited to see the next phase come together, and even more excited for students to return in August to spaces designed with them in mind.

It’s been said time and time again, but it never gets old, one chapter ends as another begins. We are excited to watch, support, and celebrate the next generation of young adults as they step into what’s next. And who knows… perhaps architecture might be in a few of their futures? Just a thought. 😉

Monday Project Spotlight🌟

This week’s spotlight might be inspired by the fact that half our office grabbed coffee here last week, and plans to do so again very soon. We’re highlighting Crown Brew Coffee Co. , a space that truly feels like the coffee house everyone hopes to find. The aesthetics, cozy seating, thoughtful angles, and, of course, great coffee all come together perfectly.

You wouldn’t believe what this space looked like before. The transformation included large, beautiful windows that flood the space with natural light, opened‑up walls with exposed brick to create a more inviting layout, new restrooms, the addition of a bar, and kitchen upgrades throughout. The creative team behind this project clearly poured their best efforts into every detail, and it shows. We’re grateful to have been part of such a talented team and truly admire the interior design that brought the vision to life. We’re honored to have played a role in such a cool project, and even happier that it’s just a short walk away when we’re ready for our next cup of coffee. 😊☕🧡
