Is your tackle box prepped, clean and ready to go?

As we round the corner to summer, take a few minutes to go through your tackle and make sure you’re ready for some fun summer fishing adventures.

🎣Clean out any broken or degraded lures

🎣Swap out your lead tackle for lead-free alternatives like tungsten and tin to help keep our waters clean!

🎣Replenish easy-to-lose items like sinkers and flies — and make sure you check what they’re made of! Did you know most nymphs are tied with lead wire?

Remember, a little maintenance now goes a long way! Your future self will thank you.

A strong reason to eliminate lead ammunition and tackle, as well as resources for how to do it while still successfully hunting and fishing. Safeguard our loons.

The most heartbreaking cases are the ones that could have been prevented.

The loon passed away last night 😢Rest easy sweet loon.

Thanks to Loon Rescue Incorporated for guiding Tom who reached out for help for the loon. They provide a great service to people all over the country advising how to rescue these birds and doing many rescues throughout Wisconsin as well.

May this be a wake up call that there are loons dying in the UP from lead poisoning. Let’s not let his life end without honoring him and making the switch to non-lead fishing and tackle, to prevent further loss for this threatened species.

Sporting Lead-Free has a great guide on how to make the switch here⬇️
https://www.sportingleadfree.org/how-to-switch-tackle

They also have great info for making the switch to non lead ammunition as well.

Please share so we can spread this educational message.

Why Support the Delta Conservation District?

When you purchase your trees, shrubs, and native plants through their seasonal fundraisers, the proceeds go right back into the community to fund vital initiatives:

School Education: Bringing hands-on conservation, forestry, and wildlife education directly to local classrooms.

Community Events: Hosting educational workshops, land-management seminars, and environmental events for the public.

Local Conservation: Supporting programs like the Michigan Agriculture Environmental Assurance Program (MAEAP) to protect local soil and water resources and Forest Assistance Program (FAP) a state initiative to help private landowners manage their forest natural resources.

Here is what we are offering:
Native Wildflowers (Quarts): Beautiful, locally suited flowers to add vibrant color and support native pollinators.

Grasses and Sedges (Quarts): Perfect for establishing natural textures, erosion control, and healthy root systems in your landscape.

Mixed Flats & Kits: All-in-one planting combinations complete with an included planting guide to make designing your garden effortless.

Plug Flats: Ideal for larger restoration projects or filling out a native garden economically.

All of our plants are pesticide-free and grown locally to ensure they are resilient and perfectly suited for our local ecosystem.

Don't wait—secure your plants through our online store today and play a vital role in funding local conservation, school programs, and community workshops!
