New Sweden. Did you ever hear of it? Neither had I! This colony, established by SwePeople's! Assisted by acontingent of 'forest Finns", was the only European colony that intenttionally kept peaceful relations with the Indigenous Peoples!

It was the smallest, least-populated and shortest-lived colony in the US. But despite being virtually unheard of today, it helped shape the nation's birth 250 years ago.

Regrettably, this watercolor was misplaced a few years ago during the reframing process. I have a couple more of the feathers that I painted and finely cut out - perhaps I will recreate it.
