Great to see everyone again this Spring. Another record year - here's to bigger and better in 2027! If you are looking to do some final planting for this Spring, see what we have left below. We did some QUICK inventory counts on everything we have left - If you are interested in some planting yet make us an offer on any or all of it!. Historically this drives a ton of messages and emails - I DO keep this post updated very well because of it.

Everything is in good/great condition still - some of the stock is actively budding and there is zero mold or anything showing on the trees or roots. Just to be clear - this is all decent stock yet. There were a few varieties that were not in the greatest shape because of excessive leaf growth or drying out - those were disposed of. 𝐖𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐧𝐤 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫, 𝐧𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞. Our coolers are still up and running so we are keeping most everything at a balmy 33-35 degrees.

We did a first pass through the coolers looking at availability. It's always tough this time of year because there are still pickup orders that haven't been picked up and shipping orders that haven't shipped, so we can't just see it in a cooler and assume we can sell it, we have to look at each variety one at a time. But this is pretty darn close.....

Still some availability right now, so if you are interested and want to do some planting yet this year either place a quick order or stop on out during our normal business hours (7 days a week)! Some items have a lot, some have hardly any - if you have any specific qty questions just ask and we'll get back to you right away. Expect this list to get smaller rather quickly - walk-in traffic has been pretty heavy and many items on the list we only have a small number of.

𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐓𝐮𝐛𝐞𝐬:
If you need Miracle Tubes or stakes to protect your seedlings we also carry those. DEFINITELY getting low on both stakes and tubes though, so a quick email if you are getting those would be highly recommended. Unless you live super close.

Onsite there are a number of boards that show all availability as well as a lot of extra floor stock set out. Some of it at discounted prices (don't worry - it's still great stock - just extras sometimes). There is staff on-site to assist with ordering as well as answer questions.

White Pine Trees are a fast-growing evergreen tree that's best used in landscapes with ample space. The fine feathery needles, open canopy, and straight trunk get more picturesque as they age. White Pines are long-lived, fast-growing trees, and they are the perfect tree for windbreaks, buffer plantings, or privacy screens.

This tree is sometimes planted for XMAS trees. It isn't THE most popular XMAS tree on the market, but it is in the top 5 or 6. It gets to the proper size very quickly, but does not command the same top-dollar price the Firs do.

Eastern white pine seeds are favored by black bears, rabbits, red squirrels and many birds, especially red crossbills. White pines provide nesting sites as well for many birds including woodpeckers, common grackles, mourning doves, chickadees and nuthatches.

Important Note: White Pines are sensitive to road salt. Do not plant them near a roadway that is salted in the winter. They also do not like to be planted in tightly compacted soil.

The Colorado Blue Spruce was first discovered in 1862 growing on Pikes Peak, CO. Since that time it has become one of the most popular conifers well beyond its native range.

This tree is a tough, very cold-hardy evergreen tree with brilliant silver-blue needles that is attractive all year round. It is a long-lived specimen that withstands winds better than most spruces due to a wide-spreading and moderately deep root system.

The striking blue colored foliage has made the White Spruce a popular landscape tree, and is also a favorite holiday tree. White spruce provides food and shelter for many species of wildlife. It will grow in more shaded areas, but does especially well in sunny, open conditions and can reach heights of 60 to 80 feet.

There are so many things to say about these trees - they are one of the most popular windbreak/privacy trees out there. They are the 2nd fastest growing (behind the Norway Spruce) and grow great in a little wetter or heavier clay areas (though they do well in any soil type). The White Spruce transplants easily and is a top-5 XMAS tree (behind the firs).

They are a great tree for deer hunters and other wildlife lovers 🦌. The deer utilize them for cover and bedding, but don't typically nibble on them because they don't like the taste. Birds enjoy the seeds, and rabbits and other animals use them for safety and shelter.

Get a head start on your deer management or windbreak with these larger 5 year old transplants.

It's been super busy all Spring. Nice to see everyone again, and great to see all the walk-in traffic this year. Weather this Spring hasn't exactly been cooperative, but we are fully open for the 2026 season. Had a monster snowstorm (30" of snow) about 3 weeks ago and then two ice storms in the last week, but we are back to normal Spring weather now. Starting tomorrow (Tuesday) the weather should get better every day. Many people from down south where the weather has been more favorable are actively planting already.

𝐀 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐞:

If you arrive without a pickup appointment we'll try to help you, but at the very minimum expect a potentially significant wait time. Some people just send their friends or family over to pickup their order without notice - this is extra evil. Please don't do that.

🍃 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐤𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐠𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐝 (Cornus amomum)

The Silky dogwood is a great shrub for attracting deer and birds to your landscape. This is a good shrub selection for moist to wet areas of the landscape. Consider the silky dogwood for moist woodlands, naturalized areas, or sites near streams/ponds. It is also effective for erosion control. Deer love these bushes for both cover and browsing.

When you are simply looking for the fastest growing tree available in WI, look no further than the Hybrid Willow. It grows at an exceptionally fast rate and often reaches 30-40' within 5 years.

These are very popular as part of a fast growing windbreak and are also a top choice for deer screening. If using them for a windbreak I would highly recommend doing one row of these and another row of a conifer (spruce or cedar). In addition, due to their aggressive roots these willows should not be planted by a septic.

Important Notes: These are 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐝 trees - not just root cuttings.

❄️𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐦!❄️ The weatherman was spot on with this one. 26-30" in Marshfield, WI depending on what measurement from the news you believe. Plows are out working on the roads - but aside from the main highways most side roads are still impassable.

The good news is that warmer weather will be here by this coming Thursday/Friday, so like all March snows this will melt (this one MAY take a few more days than normal). But unless something really unexpected happens we'll still be opening for the year on 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟕𝐭𝐡.

Remember, not everything is available at once. We get many shipments of the more common varieties like maples, poplars, oaks, pines, and Spruce. So no need to rush over the first day we are open. For pickup orders, wait for your IN STOCK email and schedule from there. For shipping orders, don't worry - we won't ship early without explicitly hearing from you. We know anyone from Central WI and to the north needs to wait for some serious melting to occur - zero concerns with that. It'll be gone by early/mid April like it always is.

Berries and fruit varieties come in more towards the middle of April. You want to wait for a little warmer/drier soil to plant those. Larger conifers (5-yr olds) are usually mid to late April. They stay frozen in the beds longer with their dense needles. Tamaracks are always later also.
