The Perennial Garden Club enjoyed a wonderful afternoon yesterday at Apple Annie’s! We were delighted to welcome three guests, enjoy a delicious lunch, and review our upcoming activities and events.

🌸 Today the Perennial Garden Club gathered at the Hedgesville Public Library to plant our beautiful planters as part of the America’s 250th Birthday Beautification Project 🇺🇸🌿

Through a grant awarded by the Shenandoah-Potomac District Garden Clubs to the Berkeley County Garden Clubs, each individual garden club was assigned a library within the county to plant and beautify. The Perennial Garden Club was proud to be assigned the Hedgesville Public Library for this special project.

We are honored to help celebrate America’s upcoming 250th birthday while adding beauty to our community and local libraries.

A heartfelt thank you to all of our members who helped plant, design, and bring these containers to life today! 🌺

Yesterday’s monthly Perennial Garden Club meeting was filled with creativity and inspiration! Our members brought in beautiful horticulture specimens—perennials from their own gardens—thoughtfully displayed and labeled.

Thank you to Carolyn Crawford for hosting as we discussed upcoming beautification projects, the Berkeley County Council of Garden Clubs plantings at War Memorial Park, and helping Olde Berkeley Garden Club show their home at Shenandoah-Potomac House and Garden Tour.

We’re so proud of Kelli Myers for winning two awards at the West Virginia State Garden Club Convention—what an accomplishment!

We’re also excited to begin our 250th Beautification Project through the Shenandoah-Potomac District 🌿

🌿 The Perennial Garden Club met on Wednesday, March 11 for their monthly meeting with the theme “Green Inside and Out,” hosted by Ruth Sperow at Hoss’s in Martinsburg. Members enjoyed a Dutch treat lunch while sharing club updates, including horticulture reports, Berkeley County Council news, and upcoming district and state events.

A highlight of the afternoon was our member houseplant presentations, where everyone shared a favorite plant. Members also brought door prizes to support and donate to the WV Wildflower Pilgrimage, adding a fun and generous touch to the meeting.

We were especially happy to celebrate the 91st birthday of our wonderful member, Phillis Mummert—a very special moment for our club.

The Perennial Garden Club met on Wednesday, February 11 for our February meeting — a lovely gathering during this Valentine’s month. 💕

Members met at Hoss’s Steak & Sea House, where we enjoyed wonderful fellowship and a delicious lunch together. A special thank you to Janis Hatfield for serving as our February hostess.

After the meeting, Kelli Myers presented an informative and hands-on program about dried seeds. Members learned how to properly dry, preserve, and use them — and everyone was invited to take the seeds home to enjoy in their own gardens. 🌿🌼 It was both educational and inspiring!

Perennial Garden Club is proud to be part of the Shenandoah-Potomac District, the West Virginia Garden Clubs, Inc., and the National Garden Clubs, Inc., connecting us to a larger network dedicated to gardening, civic beautification, and environmental responsibility.

🌸 Yesterday, January 14, 2026, Perennial Garden Club enjoyed a light lunch and meeting at Hoss's Steak and Sea House. Hostess was Cynthia Crane. Members brought charming teacup arrangements using fresh or dried flowers, judged by Horticulture Chair, Kelli Myers, and mentor Ruth Sperow. The Perennial Garden Club gathered yesterday for a joyful Christmas luncheon filled with friendship, laughter, and holiday cheer. Beautiful Christmas Amaryllis bulbs—grown and nurtured by our members—added a vibrant and elegant touch to the celebration.

A fun White Elephant Gift Exchange and a delicious Cookie Exchange made the afternoon even more festive. It was a lovely way to welcome the season together. 🌺🎄
