My heart breaks to see this for SO many reasons. Once we accepted it as routine that our young women would be given birth control pills to manage signs of hormonal imbalance such as acne or cramping... this is the inevitable end of the arc. Pregnancy and Birth are deemed to be an illness to be treated... much like menopause has become.
The main issue here is the damage caused by the lie told to women that their cycle is a "mystery" and there is no way to be part of the planning of a family. The reproductive system is a perfect system that can be known and predicted. A healthy woman CAN, along with a healthy and safe partner, be a part of planning their family.
Women's cycles are imbalanced making planning impossible... this is because women are convinced to take birth control pills to simulate balance, they inherit hormonal and nutrient imbalances, and they otherwise make choices that support imbalance without knowing- all because we do not teach young women what balance looks like, how to achieve it, and how to heal and reclaim it when they get out of balance.
*BUT WOMEN DIE IN CHILDBIRTH- again, we are not educating our young women about proper balance in their reproductive cycle. This carries imbalance into the condition of pregnancy... then we do not educate on how to be balanced and healthy through pregnancy. The condition of pregnancy and giving birth is NOT inherently unsafe... but it has BECOME so because our bodies are so unhealthy. The solution is to fix our health- not to sterilize.
Our culture is selling fear- fear of a climate that is doomed, fear of pregnancy that will kill, fear of healthy men.
When you combine the food, the body care, cleaning supplies and social conditioning with this fear- it adds up to what I've been warning for a long time- The dominant split of Western culture is actively DE-selecting for the human race.
More Younger Democrat Women Are Seeking Permanent Sterilization because of Restrictive Abortion Fights
The New York Times reports that a growing number of younger women are seeking permanent sterilization procedures, such as tubal ligation or salpingectomy, a shift that doctors say reflects changing attitudes toward family planning and reproductive autonomy.
According to the report, some women in their 20s and early 30s say they are certain they do not want children and want long-term control over their reproductive choices. Others cite concerns about access to abortion, health risks from pregnancy, economic pressures, or personal circumstances.
The article notes that historically, many doctors were reluctant to perform sterilization on younger patients, particularly those without children, due to ethical concerns and the possibility of future regret. However, some medical providers say policies and attitudes are evolving, with a greater emphasis on respecting patient autonomy.
At the same time, other physicians remain cautious and emphasize informed consent, counseling, and discussion of reversible alternatives. The Times reports that medical guidelines still encourage careful evaluation before approving permanent procedures.
The trend is occurring amid broader national debates over reproductive health care, access to contraception, and abortion laws following recent legal and political changes.
