Job Opening at Brent Thomas Renovations:
Position Title: Cabinetry Shop Carpenter (Full-Time)
Location: Mason, Ohio
Pay: $20 - 25/hour
Company: Brent Thomas Renovations
About Us
At Brent Thomas Renovations, we’re known for crafting high-quality custom cabinetry and delivering exceptional home renovations. Our in-house woodworking shop is climate-controlled, well-organized, and designed to support a steady, manageable workflow with a strong commitment to quality and craftsmanship.
Position Overview
We’re seeking a dependable Cabinetry Shop Carpenter to join our woodworking team. This role is ideal for a skilled tradesperson—particularly someone in the later stages of their career—who values the predictability of a shop environment, appreciates craftsmanship, and enjoys flexibility and stability.
You’ll work in a low-stress, detail-focused setting cutting and assembling cabinet parts such as face frames, panels, and CNC components. While we’re happy to train you on the specifics of our operations and processes, you must be comfortable reading a tape measure and using common shop tools with accuracy and care.
Why This Role Might Be a Great Fit
• Consistent, steady workflow — no seasonal drop-offs or site travel.
• Climate-controlled shop — stay comfortable year-round.
• Flexible scheduling — ideal for someone looking for full-time work with some autonomy over hours.
• Team culture that values skill and experience — your expertise and reliability matter more than your résumé.
Key Responsibilities
• Use table saws, jointers, planers, sanders, and other woodworking tools to cut and prep cabinet parts.
• Read cut sheets and tape measures accurately; maintain tight tolerances on parts (within 1/32”).
• Assemble face frames and other cabinet components as part of a custom build team.
• Assist with CNC-related operations, including part prep and organization.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
Requirements
• Familiarity and confidence using shop tools (e.g., saws, drills, routers, sanders).
• Ability to read a tape measure and make accurate cuts to specification.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to our custom shop process.
• Reliability, attention to detail, and pride in your work.
Nice to Have
• Experience with cabinet building or woodworking.
• Familiarity with CNC operations or interest in learning.
• Past work in carpentry, woodworking, or millwork shops.
Compensation & Perks
• $20 to 25/hour starting pay.
• Flexible hours and consistent workload.
• Comfortable work environment in our climate-controlled shop.
• Paid time off, vacation, and holidays.
• Opportunity to be part of a quality-driven, respectful, and skilled team.
