Here is the daylily, Foot Long, by Pierce. I potted up 6 purchased daylilies 3 years ago, that had not thrived in my northern garden. The giant beauty opened today, and what a joy for a daylily lover and hybridizer to see this in bloom in my greenhouse. I used some frozen pollen from one of my own favorite cultivars that I collected last summer. We shall see if I have luck with frozen pollen. In any case I will have blooms to hold me over until our season starts in Mattapoisett.
