Now hiring Office Assistant

General Description: C&S Construction Services Inc. is a locally owned and operated company looking for a qualified office assistant. The duties would include taking phone calls from clients and prospects, gathering information and forwarding it to the appropriate employee, helping to run reports, and keeping the management system updated. This type of business requires self-motivated individuals who can work within a guideline and meet deadlines.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Self-starter with the ability to develop and follow processes and procedures
Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with clients and work in a cooperative, team environment with co-workers.
Knowledge of Word, Excel, and basic internet savvy.
Knowledge of planning a procedure or set of procedures intended to ensure that the performed services meet the client or customers’ requirements.
Knowledge of how to enter or update data into a computer system database.

Hours

Currently average 40+ hours per week (8-5). The hours are sometimes flexible depending on the volume of work.
Vacation and Sick time:

90-day probation period
5 days paid vacation first year
3 days paid sick time

We are pleased to announce that Wythe County residents are now able to apply for individual federal disaster assistance to supplement recovery efforts from Topical Storm Helene after President Biden’s Major Disaster Declaration for Virginia.

The President's action makes federal funding available to affected individuals in Giles, Grayson, Smyth, Tazewell, Washington and Wythe counties and the independent city of Galax. Assistance can include grants for temporary housing and home repairs, low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses and other programs to help individuals and business owners recover from the effects of the disaster.

Individuals and business owners who sustained losses in the designated areas can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621- 3362 or by using the FEMA App.
