Overgrown trees along a fence line don't just look messy, they can quietly chip away at a property's value over time.

In Fort White and O'Brien, we regularly see fence lines where trees have grown into neighboring branches, dropped limbs onto shared property, or pushed roots into fencing itself. Left unaddressed, this can turn into a dispute between neighbors or a costly repair down the road.

A proper trim along a property line keeps trees healthy while respecting boundaries on both sides. It also opens up sightlines and gives the whole property a more maintained look, which matters whether you're staying put or getting ready to sell.

Peak hurricane season means downed limbs and toppled trees are a real possibility for Columbia and Suwannee County homeowners in the weeks ahead.

After a storm, it's tempting to clear debris yourself, but a few situations call for a professional every time. Any tree or limb touching a power line should be left completely alone until the utility company or a trained crew addresses it. A leaning tree that hasn't fully fallen can still shift without warning, even if it looks stable.

Chainsaws under tension from a fallen tree's weight are another common source of injury when homeowners try to cut debris that's under load. Our crew is trained to read tension and weight distribution before making the first cut.

A massive live oak near a home outside Live Oak looked healthy from the road, but a closer inspection told a different story.

The trunk had a large cavity hidden behind bark growth, and internal decay had spread far enough that the tree could no longer support its own canopy weight in a strong wind. It was growing within reach of the roofline, which made the risk impossible to ignore once we saw the extent of the damage.

Our self-propelled 4x4 lift let us take the canopy down in controlled sections, protecting the home, a fence, and a nearby shed throughout the job. What could have been a stressful, drawn-out removal was finished in a single day with a clean site afterward.

Not every tree can be saved, but every removal can be done safely and carefully.

Wilting, reddish-brown leaves that stay attached to a redbay tree are one of the clearest signs of laurel wilt disease in North Florida.

The disease spreads through ambrosia beetles and moves fast once a tree is infected, often killing it within weeks of the first visible symptoms. Redbay and sassafras trees are most at risk, and once one tree in a stand is infected, nearby trees of the same species are vulnerable too.

Removing infected trees promptly helps slow the spread to healthy trees on the same property. It's one of those situations where waiting to see if a tree recovers usually costs more in the end.

If you've noticed a redbay or sassafras on your property wilting suddenly, it's worth having it checked before the disease spreads further.
