✨NEW! Rhododendron 'Ube'✨
This spectacular Rhododendron has not quite made it to our website yet, but we wanted to share a sneak peak! This rhododendron has spectacular dark green foliage that contrasts beautifully with it's dark purple flowers. And who doesn't love a flower with a speckled throat?! The maroon speckles add an extra stunning pop of color to an already amazing plant!

Rhododendron 'Lynnette' Is Blooming!🌼
This rhododendron is a Singing Tree Gardens Nursery Original, hybridized by Don Wallace. Rhododendron 'Lynnette' is a cross between R. 'Wizard' x R. irroratum 'Polka Dot'. This cross is rare and difficult to propagate so our stock is limited!

There are many fragrant rhododendrons in the world. Some are species that are found growing in the wild, while others are hybrids of two species, or crosses of hybrids x species. The potency of the fragrance is determined by the parents, so some will perfume the air, while others you have to put your nose close to the flower to detect the scent. This photo is of a cross between two fragrant species, R. nuttallii, and R. lindleyii, and is called R. 'Patricia Marie'. The cultivar was created near here in Eureka by Halvor Braafladt. The flowers of the species R. nuttallii are the largest in the genus, white with a yellow throat. This hybrid can perfume the air on a warm day. I remember seeing a photo of some plant explorers in Tibet standing around drinking wine out of these blossoms, big enough be a floral wine glass.

**RARE PLANT ALERT*** 'Spoons' is a cultivare of low growing dwarf rhododendron that was created here at Singing Trees and is distributed exclusively by us! Five years ago I made a cross of R. 'Smiling Eyes' x R. 'Elegant Dancer'. These are both my hybrids, and both have fragrance. My goal was to create a beautiful and scrumptious rhododendron with alot of fragrance. Today one of the seedling of this cross is in full bloom. I am naming it R. 'Allison Coe'. We will be taking cuttings and making more to offer to the gardening public.
