One in a billion, and beyond.
We miss and will miss our friend Corey Shannon Johnson, dearly and for innumerable reasons. There is much to a person, so much more than their surface suggests.
We will miss your enthusiasm, your fashion verve...never lacking; always the best socks, the bucket hat accessorizing that pair of red coveralls that made us all a little jealousโฆand you knew it, took joy in that.
We will miss our wild conversations about the wonders of life, yoga, surfing, fitness in general, car talk, diet, love of family and animals, and your tremendously positive attitudeโฆโAwww Rebecca, lighten up. It's a beautiful day.โ
Our wizard with a โweed jammer.โ
Our friend. We grew up together, kid.
We will miss your laughter.
Grower of the tiniest of Giant sunflowers, with such pride you tended to your diminutive beautification project. You tended with real joy and without disappointment; the action being of greater importance to you than the outcome.
Grower of the largest of trees, your efforts have traveled afar, spread throughout the world.
I received a call from an old neighbor, from our road, now living in South Carolina. A dear person.
During a home visit her wife commented on a clients redwood, growing beautifully, was gifted a seedling by that client on her next visit, brought it home to her N. California born wife, our neighbor.
That seedling was grown here in her old neighborhood, where she grew up, watched Corey grow up, started by Corey.
Synchronicity.
Receiving that gift gave joy, a modicum of peace; a tangible item that with tending will continue. From his hands.
All of us at Jonsteen, and 2006 Woody Road, we love you, Corey.
Thank you for adopting all of us.
Sweetheart. Sweet heart.
Our heartfelt condolences to Corey's family and friends.
