One of our customers experienced freeze damage, resulting in three cracked valves, two check valves, and a damaged heater manifold. We replaced the affected components with new multi-port valves and check valves, and bypassed the heater. We recommend winterizing pool equipment only in situations where power outages occur for extended periods during freezing temperatures.

Make sure your booster pumps for the pool cleaner are set on the auto freeze. It’s a common mistake. If not, the impeller can snap apart and even get hot enough to fuse to the volute (front housing).
