Renovations can breathe life back into outdated spaces like pools which benefit greatly when revamped using quality materials such as Noble Crystal Stones Aqua White Plaster combined seamlessly alongside glass accents plus stylish MASMR150 tiles arranged carefully chosen style. This project began Wednesday and is now filling up right now “Monday”. It included a new light conduit and power run and servicing of a bulb & gasket replacement. Time to get Creative!

This is Josiah Montoya, owner of Integrity Pool Co. L.L.C. & Our it is our passion to keep your pool system in good working order. This post will include useful guidance and please share if you know someone with a pool through this weather event. Yesterday I personally experienced over 82 phone calls and managed to get 9 jobs complete. Some of you have been waiting a great deal of time for us to come out and we are working hard to address our work orders. We shifted gears this last week to resolve issues that could’ve caused thousands of dollars in damage with this upcoming weather event. If you don’t have a pool then please disregard this message or forward this message to someone with a pool as it could potentially save some equipment which would save money from freeze damage.

*Ensure water is topped off as some of us will be below freezing for up to 87hours. Faucets may freeze resulting in the inability to fill the pool. Some areas are expected to have windchills of subzero temperatures during this time.

*Winterize your water hoses and cover exterior faucets.

*Keep Monitoring your Pool to make sure water is flowing.

*You May cover your equipment with moving blankets, quilts, old comforter as an insulating layer and a decent tarp for water proofing. (Think fleece layer and windbreaker). ***This poses a fire hazard if you have a gas heater so if you do this then you will need to turn off the gas valve.*** Many people do this as it keeps the equipment externally dry. Use an oversized tarp and heavy objects such as bricks or logs to anchor it down.

*Any system that is less than 3 years old or newly installed equipment is warrantied for 3 years but is limited and does not cover against acts of god.

*If you have a separate water feature pump it will run for several days so you may want to winterize any independent feature or water fall pump(s).

*If I did your pool school since snowmaggedon when we had rolling blackouts then most have taken a video of me explaining what to do if you have to do an emergency winterization and I would’ve asked you to save that video in your ❤️ videos.

*Do not run your heaters as it can be counter intuitive and have dealt with a number of heaters that were damaged not from freeze damage but from running them against 40 degree or colder water which created a corrosive gas and internally corroded or prematurely wore the heat exchanger which Can and will drastically take a toll on the heater.

*Placing sports Balls and plastic jugs in the water and in skimmers will help when an ice layer may begin to form and the ice will push against the air pockets rather than the tile and skimmers.

*I encourage you to take a look at your equipment pad and if you see any wet spots then I would insulate and waterproof those areas as a little drip can turn into an ice nightmare.

*You May choose to winterize your system and these are the steps if you decide to do so. There are no guarantees that damage could be avoided with keeping a system running or winterizing.
*Turn Power off to equipment by breaker or main power/toggle switch
*remove all plugs and do your best to evacuate all water from above ground plumbing and the equipment. I’ve seen some equipment with a little water that remained and still damaged some equipment.
*I would grab a drill and remove all valves. It is cheaper to pay for a service call for us or anyone to reassemble your equipment pad than it is to replace just one valve much less a pump and/or heater.
*most pumps have 2 drain plugs
*remove lids and the air release on top of the filter
*Place The plugs inside a pump basket or safe place so they don’t get misplaced or lost.
*The last step is remove the drain plug on the filter as it contains the most water and it will be cold.
Be sure to kill the power to the equipment so the pumps don’t burn up.
