One of our favorite projects, the Hendricks Residence renovation, 'A Slice of Light', has been selected to be one of four houses on a house tour June 3. The tour is part of a fund-raising program by 'The Love Quilt Project' to support their mission of making quilts for children in South Africa. It is a wonderful project and we are happy to support it.

We've been honored again! Just received word that our project, "Planes of Light" has been awarded an Honorable Mention for design excellence in the 2011 Fairfax County Exceptional Design Awards Program. The objective of this remodeling project was to open the interiors of this typical Northern Virginia 'brick box', making the diminutive feel spacious.

In a neighborhood of modest-sized homes, mature trees and narrow lots, our program was to double the size of the existing cottage to accommodate a growing family. The contemporary design successfully married the neighborhood context with our clients' aesthetic and sense of joy with the choices of forms, texture and color.
